Winter Fair Hobby Show A DISPLAY of hobbies will be presented as part of the arts and crafts division of the Montana Winter fair in Bozeman March 22 to 28, with special demonstrations appealing to the feminine visitors conducted each day. Hobbyists will have an opportu nity to show their skill in carving in wood, soap or leather. Ceramics and painting, a new hobby that has in terested many ladies, will also be presented, as will shell craft, chenille and bead craft. Montana artists will have an op portunity to display oil and water color painting and black and white drawings and sculpture. Specialties such as glass etching, wood inlay, and even model airplane construe 1 tion will bë displayed as well. Mrs. E. M. Lyon, chairman of the hobby show, recently pointed out that the hobby show gives talented Montanans an opportunity to display their ability and will serve as an incentive for others to improve their own work in many fields. Demonstrations are varied and will offer the visiting ladies many new fields of self-expression. The first day of the hobby show, March 24, Mrs. Melvin Johnson, local business woman, will demonstrate proper gift wrapping. That evening Mrs. Elsie Tinsley will discuss techniques she uses to make candles in her own spare time candle shop. Tuesday's demonstrations will feature Mrs. Clarence Staffanson and glove mak ing and Mrs. Paul Lee and felt craft. Thursday afternoon Mrs. Jessie Bradley and Mrs. Elmer Allsop will jointly explain their unique shell craft experiences, and that evening C. J. D. Brown will have a special display of chip carving.
