Boute 4 k a / I f //■ Hereford entries from Montana and Canada will be accepted for the March, 1958, Spokane, Wash., sale of the North west Hereford Breeders Assn., it was announced by officers of the association at a recent meeting. This is the first time in 20 years the sale will include entries from Montana. Those interested in consigning to the sale should contact President A. R. Cochran, Colfax, Wash. Asa Shermer, Marion, has purchased 20 cows with calves and the champion bull at the Inland Empire Sale, Wheat dale Radian Acme by Wheatland Ra diance, from J. C. Price, Conrad. These purchases are the start of a new regis tered Shorthorn herd. Reno H. Sales of Butte was elected president of the N Bar Ranch Co. of Grass Range at a meeting held June 5 in Helena. Sales was chief geologist for the Anaconda Co. for 40 years before his retirement. His principal interest at present is the continued development of the N Bar. Norman J. (Jeff) Holter of Helena was named vice president and Jack Milburn of Grass Range, sec retary-treasurer and general manager. Herbert and Lodema Spurgeon, Me dora, N.D., have purchased the entire registered Hereford cow herd owned by Gerald Pacovsky, Bozeman. The private treaty transaction involved 37 cows with calves at side and two year ling bulls. Galloway Breeders Re-elect Shoop DIRECTORS OF THE Montana Gal loway Breeders Association elected at the sixth annual convention held in Bozeman June 11-12 are Earl Shoop, Browning; Bud Gibson, Springdale, and Harold Todd, Bozeman. Holdover directors are W. A. Steffen and Glen Coutts of Richey; Clifton Sherrill of Ekalaka; A. S. Wallace, High River, Alta.; Bud Rudolph, Winchester, Ida ho, and John Nunn, Sandpoint, Idaho. The directors re-elected Shoop presi dent of the association. Todd was elect ed vice president and Patricia Ander son of Bozeman was named secretary treasurer. Shorthorn Assn. Elects Officers ED GRAHAM, Powell, Wyo., was elected president of the Wyoming Shorthorn Breeders' Assn, at the group's annual meeting held May 31 at Powell. Ralph Hawley, Powell, was named vice president, and Ed Lorhenz, Dea ver, secretary-treasurer. Serving on the board of directors are Herman Rauchfuss, Cody; Melvin Scott, Powell; Albert Harwell. Ralston, and Harvey Scott, Garland. The association picnic and field day was set for July 7 at Powell, and plans were made for a Park county Short horn exhibit in August.
