Oil Trade Notes Of Interest to Refiners and Marketers The Cossco station at RtagHag has been leaned by M1 m Isabel McCarry, formerly lax charge of Che Texaco station, John P. Donovan I« owner of the Conoco station. Mias McCurry intends Co serve meals to tourists in addition to setting gasoline. BIG WEST INCREASES CRACKING CAPACITY OF KEVIN REFINERY Big West Oil comlpany of Montana is enlarging its prude charging capacity and its Dubbs .cracking capacity at Kevin, Montana, because it was unable to keep up with the growing de mand for its gasoline. The contract for the work has been let to The Ralph M. Parsons corripany of Chicago, designer and builder of the refinery, which went into operation in January, 1934. The present refinery constats of combination crude and reforming furnace with fractionating tower and auxiliaries, a Dubbs single-coil cracking unit with absorber and stabilizer, and a treating system and re-run unit. When the plans lor the refinery were being formulated, more than two years ago, the probability of future additions was foreseen and they were allowed for. The new equipment is being installed In the locations provided for in the orig inal plans. Two Coil Unit The most important feature of the new work is the conversion of the Dulbbs unit from single coll to two-coil selective cracking opera tion. This necessitates the building of a light-oil cracking furnace, the Installation of an additional hot-oil pump and a high-pressure pump for charging straight-run gasoline to the furnace. Enlarge Pump Capacity The pump house will be extend ed in line with the original plans to accomodate the new pumps, while the additional control instru ments will be installed on panels which were put in for that pur pose when the control house was built. A double-cell furnace for treat ing and redistilling for cracked gasoline will be constructed, and condenser capacity Will be enlarged. The combination unit as now op erating runs 20 days a month dis tilling crude oil, and 10 days forming straight-run gasoline. Give« Continuous Crude Bun Recently the heavy demand for more crude throughput has cut down the reforming time and, con sequently, Stocks of straight-run gasoline have accumulated. The new work when completed will free the combination unit for crude service entirely and increase the dally crude capacity from 650 to 1000 barrels a day. The light fractions will be continuously charg ed to the light oil furnace as a part of the cracking operation. By converting to 2-coll operation, the capacity of the cracking unit will be increased from the present 600 barrel« a day to 750 barrels a day, and the octane number of the cracked gasoline, which Is now 69-70, wi® be «considerably in creased. re NOTICE TO CREDITORS Estate of Rudolph Johnson, Deceased. Violation of all the codes and fair trade practices in the book Is involved, but the fact remains that Lon Crumley and Lee Yealy have lost their exhibition trout. at to Whenever they could get a stranger up into the park, they used to go out and provide a thrill by hooking this big trout that either weighed 22 pounds or was 22 Inches long. It makes no difference. Last fall they had many visitor» and they fed the big fellow so many worms, meat and minnows that he "went pansy'' on them, as evidenced by the events of last week. A stranger In these parts, one of the supply boys from Kevin, went up to the lake without a host or guide. He had the wrong kind of tackle, the wrong kind of bait and he didn't even know where to fish, H e fished off shore in a spot where Yealy and Crumley ordinär illy puil their boats up on the bank and where the water is only a foot or two deep in the summer time. It is a sort of bay, protected by a sand spit. None who had any sense would think of fishing there. But apparently Jumbo, as the pet trout was called, mistook the strang er for one of his Old friends, so he rushed madly in and bit at the 'customary chunk of meat he thought was tied on the end of a string. Instead, this chunk had a hook in it and Jumbo was dragged out onto the shore so quickly that he didn't have time to make his customary sensational leap Into the air. It appears that Crumley, Yealy et al have to send away for another pet fish, otherwise they will have little to attract them to their sum mer home« on the lake. In any case, It will never be the same, for training fish is slow, difficult work. It is said that Crumley got this one in California and had it trained for several weeks in a school of sail fish so that it would give its lively exhibition on St. Mary's.
