Old Wyoming Field Drilled
Deeper Has 320-bbl. Well
CASPER—Deeper drilling in an old field again paid divi
dends this week when Wyalta Oil Company's No. 1-D Govern
ment, SE SE SW 32-30N-81W, in the Spindietop field in
Natrona county, 35 miles southwest of here, swabbed 640
barrels of heavy black oil from the Tensleep, topped at 2,224.
Total depth of the well was 2,445 feet. The 5V£-inch was set at
2,385 feet and perforated with 28 holes at 2,250 feet. The operators
estimated it would make 600 barrels daily on the pump.
The Spindietop field was discov- ♦
ered in 1922, when it had some pro
duction from the Sundance sand at
about 1,000 feet. The Sundance was
topped in the Wyalta well at 1,260.
In 1938, George W. Jarvis, head of
the Wyalta company, completed
three wells in the Sundance as small
producers at about 1,050 feet, in
section 32-30N-81W.
Locations for three additional
wildcats were made during the
week and several good producers
completed in proven fields. The full
