Davis, who was super intendent at Butte last year. Those who have met the professor are most favorably impressed with him and his methods, and our schools will im prove rapidly under his management. Mrs. H. H. Tripp of Musselshell, nicece of Mr. and Mrs. W. W- Ald erson, is making her first visit with relatives. Mrs. Tripp her Bozeman born on the Pacific coast and was has never been east of the Rockjf mountian range until she came to Montana about three months ago. Prof. Oscar Railsback of the Helena business college, who has been making a horseback tour of Gallatin county, in the interest of -the institution, drop ped a courtious call at the Courier office. Oscar is decidedly a "Gallatin county boy" and we are proud to claim him. claim him. Both smelters are running at full blast and thebullio of the camp has already attained a considerable amount. * Thos. Craig who owns a ranch east of Timberline was arrested last week upon the charge of obstructing a public highway. A hearing was had before police Magistrate Martin, when Craig was discharged at the close of the testimony for the prosecution. It appeared that there was no public highway * whatever, running through Craig's ranchand that in fencing it he was not interfering with the rights privileges of other sitizens.
