CHAPTER 137.
Au Act for the Submission to the Qualified Electors of the State of Montana an
Amend incut to Section 45 of Article 5 of the Constitution of the State of Montana

Assembly.
Be It Enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Montana :
Section 1. That Section 45 of Article 5 of the Constitution of the State of Montana
is hereinafter provided, and that the question of said amendment be
submitted to the qualified electors of the State of Montana at the next general election.
Section 2. That Section 45 of Article 5 of the Constitution of the State of Montana
be. and the same is hereby amended to read ns follows:
Section 45, When vacancies, caused by death, occur in either house of the Legisla
tive Assembly, such vacancies shall be filled by appointment by the board of county
commissioners of the county from which such vacancy occurs. All vacancies occurring
y other cause shall be filled by election upon proclamation of the Governor.

The elector shall designate his preference for either of the propositions by making
an "X" before the proposition desired.
Section 4. The votes cast for and against this amendment above propose«!, shall be
count«*«!, canvassed and determined by law, and if a majority of all votes cast at such

Be It Enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Montana;
That Section 2 of Article IX of the Constitution of the State of Montana
hereinafter provided and that the question of such amendment be sub
mitted to the qualified electors .»f the State of Montana at the next general election.

to the Qualifications Required of Persons to Entitle Thera to Vote," and the elector
shall indicate his preference by marking an X before the proposition for which he de
sires to vote, and the result of the vote on said question shall be «letennlned and de
provided by law.
Section 4. All Acts and parts of Acts in conflict herewith
Section 5. This Act shall be in full force and «*ff«>ct after its passage and approval.
