12 — Hardin Tribune-Herald, Thursday, September 23. 1954 F. J. Davis Was Resident of This Area in 1906 Franklin J. Davis, who died at his home here Sept. 14, was an early-day resident of this area, having first come here in 1906. Services were held at the Methodist church here last Saturday, with burial in the Hardin cemetery. Mr. Davis was born May 2, 1883, at Cincinnati, Iowa; the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Davis. He first came to this area in 1906 and was employed on var ious ranches before returning to lowa where he married Daisy Hall on Nov. 1, 1909, at Center ville. Mr. and Mrs. Davis lived in Wyoming for several years be fore making their home in Red Lodge. They returned to Big Horn county in 1925. Mr. Davis had made his home in this area intermitt an tly since that time. Mrs. Davis died in Billings in 1935. Survivors include two daugh ters, Mrs. Wm. Stoddard of Har din and Mrs. Ed Johnson of Pamoma, Cal.; a nephew, Har old Davis of Riverton, Wyo.; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. n Kilbourne Is Honored At Medical Meet (Continued from page 1) Dr. Kilbourne was in general practice in the state of Kan sas until 1919 following his graduation in 1904 from the medical department of Wash burn college at Topeka, Kan. He entered public health work in 1919, becoming affiliated with the state board of health where he served until July, 1923, w r hen he became city health officer of Fargo, N. D. In October. 1935, Dr. Kn bourne accepted the position as epidemologist with the Montana state board of health and served in that capacity until 1947 when he was appointed state health officer. He retired for three months in 1950 before coming to Hardin April 1, 1951. to serve as health officer for Montana public health district 1, com prising Rosebud and Big Horn counties. Dr. Kilbourne was appointed in April, 1953, by Gov. Hugo Aronson to represent the state of Montana at a meeting of the Western Hemisphere branch of the World Mescal associa tion at Richmond, Va. u ENROLL AT NEBRASKA Roland Lenhard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon W. Lenhard of Hardin, and Eugene Hauck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hauck of St. Xavier, are fresh men at Nebraska state teach ers college at Chadron.
