Battlefield Travel 2,315 During March Travel figures for the month of March at Custer Battlefield national monumept have been released by John Aubuchon, superintendent. The total for March was 2316, FLYING FACTS: MORE than half the commercial flying done in New Zealand is devoted to agriculture. Total flying time logged in the last year was 73,762 hours. According to a New Zealand government report, at the end of May, 1957, there were 70 companies with 315 registered aircraft providing aerial top-dressing facilities: 428,000 tons of fertilizer and 1.600,000 tons of manure had been dropped. Increased productive acreage has given rise to demands for subsidiary services, notably seed sowing, rabbit poisoning, spraying and supply dropping, including the aerial delivery of fencing materials in isolated and hilly country. Miss Hazel Thompson was In charge of the meeting which featured speakers from Bozeman. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Barnes and family were Monday callers at the Rich Howard home. Mr. and Mrs Ray Garverich call ed at the Art Gamble home Tues day. Ray Morissette of Hardin called at the Russell Churchill home Fri day. Mrs. Gene Bolinger transacted business in Sheridan, Wyo. last week. Mr. and Mrs. Charles May and girls were Wednesday callers at the Rich Howard home. Mr. and Mrs. Oswald Nichols and girls were pinochle guests at the Goodale home Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Rich Howard" and Oswald Nichols were Billings shop pers Thursday. They also visited Mrs. J. C. Gamble at the hospital. Correction on last week’s items. The teacherage at Beaver Creek school was sold to Joe Lind, not to be constructed by him. Mr. and Mrs. John Luther and family were week end visitors in Red Lodge at the John Vandersloot home. Mrs. Rich Howard was a Hy sham shopper Saturday. Enroute home she visited with Mrs- Ray Garverich and Nina. Attending the rifle shoot at For syth Sunday from this community were Mr. and Mrs. Art Gamble and boys, J. C. Gamble and Mr. and Mrs. Rich Howard and Lee. Dan Eggart Jr. arrived Saturday for a week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Eggart, after which he will enroll for the spring quarter at Montana State college at Boze man. J. C. Gamble returned Saturday after spending nearly a week at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Burl Hodges, and family in Cody, Wyo. Mr. Gamble visited his wife in the Billings hospital enroute home. Dorothy Gamble will remain in Cody for another week while having dental work done. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Churchill were hosts over the week end to their daughters and families. Visit ing were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Stead man and daughter of Sonnette, and Mrs. Ann Zabreckl and daughters of Miles City. Dan Eggart called at the Charles May and Rich Howard homes Mon day. • Ashland By Mrs. L D. Trusler Members of the Ashland Home makers club held their regular monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. W. W. Trusler Thursday. Ouest speaker of the afternoon, Mrs. Nor ma Coon, Adult Education instruc tor, gave a brief report on the pur pose and method as well as the background of the program. Mr. and Mrs Ray Schonenbach and family spent Tuesday in Bil lings. Mrs. Eva Collins of Eugene, Ore. arrived last week for a few weeks visit at the home of Mrs. Grace Green. Oral Gentry of Billings spent a few days visiting at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Gentry of Otter creek. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Daily were shopping and transacting business in Miles City Thursday. Mrs. Kirk Green honored her son, Klrkie, on the occasion of his birthday Saturday. Mrs. John Koslowltz and daughter Sherry, accompanied by Miss Agnes O’Brien and Mrs. Jane Talbert and Jeannie were shopping and trans acting business hi Billings Satur day. Mr. and Mrs. Don Williams were Saturday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Morgan. Miss Anne and Alice Logue were hostesses to a dinner party Thurs day. Tuesday evening guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wagner included Mr. and Mrs. Ro bert Schaudel and Mr. and Mrs- Glen McKelvey and family. Mrs. Archie Stabbio spent Tues day in Broadus transacting business and visiting friends. Justyn Hill recently returned to her home in Crow after a long con valescence at Cushman hospital in Tacoma, Wash. Eileen Hill of Crow received temp orary appointment in the clerical department at Crow Indian hospital and began her work Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Truman Mason at tended a P-TA dance held in Wy ola Saturday night. Easter Sunday mass at St. Den nis Catholic church will be celebrat ed at 10 a. m. with Father John Becker, S. J. of Seattle, Wash, as celebrant. Week end guests at the Gus Sal veson home were Mr. and Mrs. James Hopper of Sacramento, Calif. Gordon Powers was guest speak er at the annual banquet of the Sheridan County Cow Belles held In Sheridan Saturday evening. He showed films of the Crow Indian buffalo hunt and grasshopper spraying. Services were held every night during Holy Week at 8 p. m. at the Foursquare Gospel church in Crow. The Rev. E. E. Fitch of Har din was guest speaker Wednesday evening. The Junior class of the Foursquare Gospel church in Har din will present a play under the direction of Mrs. E E. Fitch Friday night at 8 p. m. at Crow. Visiting at the Earl Hubley home Wednesday were Mrs. Leo Colstad and daughter, Carla, of Hardin.
