Daniel Dr. George Stickney, state confer ence superintendent attended a meeting of Congregational church members at Custer Tuesday evening and talked with them concerning improvements on the church build ing. Ensign Lloyd Kesterson, son of Mr and Mrs. Stanley Kesterson arrived Tuesday from Corpus Christi, Tex. for a visit with his parents. He will leave soon after Christmas for San Francisco to sail from there to Guam. Bobby Wertz has returned from a visit of two weeks at the home of his sister, Mrs. Lucille Wallace at Colo rado Springs, Colo. At a basketball game played at Custer Friday night between the Custer Cougars and the Busby Eag les the score stood 82 to 80 in favor of Custer, Dan Kuntz was high man for Custer with 27 points. Laßance scored high for Busby with M pointe A game between th Custer Cougars and the Hysham Pirates at Hydiam Saturday night resulted in a victory for the Cougars 58 to 48. Kuntz and Clawson of Custer each scored 17 points. Mysse of Hysham scored 14 points. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Patterson of Sanders have announced the en gagement of their daughter Wretha to Wilbur Bott, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bott of Ouster. A wedding date has not been set Attending a P. T. A. executive meeting in Custer from Big Horn were Mr. Richardson Mrs- Albert Grammens and Mrs. Walter Hope. Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Mead of Wor land, Wyo. visited at the Charles Chelberg home and were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gram men*. The Catholic Altar society Christ mas party was held at the home of Mrs. P. F. Trusler The American Legion auxiliary held their regular meeting in the American Legion hall on Tuesday evening. Plans were made by the members to send cookies to the Vet eran’s hospital in Miles City for their Christmas party. Members also made final preparation for a planned gift to their adopted boy at the State Industrial School. The American Legion joined the Auxiliary in the singing of the eve • nlng and refreshments served by the hostesses. Mrs. Minnie Mosgar and Gloria Stablo, Mrs. Mosgar who was unable to attend had Mrs. Sta bio assist. District Superintendent Rodger Robinson of Billings held services on Sunday at the Ashland Community church followed by a business meet ing with the congregation. Final plans were also made for the Christ mas program for members of the various Sunday School groups who will present their skits on December 18.
