HAY Mrs. Sophie Hay of Kalispell was honored on Monday with a coffee hour given for her by her daughter, Mrs Milton Molsberry at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Molsberry. There were eight ladies present. NEW YEARS’ EVE PARTY A group of young people enjoyed a New Years Eve watch party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. G West wood Jr. with Laura Westwood the hostess. Those present were Betty Ellie. Judy Wiley. Deanna Lind quist, Joan Tschirgi. R. award is sponsored locally by the Absaroka Chapter of the Daughters of the American Resolution. The D. A. R. selection Is made by the high school faculty and members of the Senior Class. It Is based on a number of points Including leadership, loyalty, service cooperation, dependability consider, atlon for others, courtesy, patriot ism, and unselfish Interests In family school, community and nation. A competitive test will be given later as entry In the state wide contest. The state winner will be entered In the National D. A. R. contest. Miss Tschirgi is the daughter ol Frank Tschirgi of Wyola. She at tended grade school in Wyola and is a senior in high school at Lodge Grass. Besides the regular class work Miss Tschirgi is very active in extra curricular activities. She was a member of the A squad cheerleaders in her fresh man and sophomore years. She was pep club vice-president in her JOAN TSCHIRGI junior year and president this year. Miss Tschirgi’s activities Include student council member junior and senior years; a member of the G. A. A. in her freshman year and tecreUry of the class in her sophomore year. She was a member of the high school band all four years and of the chorus in her freshman, sopbb. more and senior years. As a Jun.Or she was band president and is band secretary this year. She was paper staff editor as a junior and assistant editor as a sophomore and is editor of the annual art department this year. She served as secretary of the rodeo club as a junior and is serv ing as treasurer this year. In her freshman year she was chosen best All Around Girl. Miss Tschirgi was in the Junior class play last year and in the senior class play this year. She was in the operetta when she was a freshman, in the Drama Club as a sophomore, and in the pep band during her junior year. She was also an office worker in her sopho more year. The Hayden family are moving to Lodge Grata where Hayden will be employed at the Simpson sawmill In the Wolf Mountains. Charles Westwood who has been spending the holidays with hla parents, Mr. and Mra. A. G. West wood Jr. left Sunday, Jan. 3, to re turn to his college in Philadelphia, Penn. Mra. Hilda Westwood left Lodge Grass just before the holidays tor Montgomery. Ala. where she will make an extended visit with her son-in-law and daughter. Lieut. Col. and Mra. Warren Sands and iamlly Mr. and Mra. Richard Pilch and children entertained a number of guests at their home during the holiday season. First to arrive were Mr. and Mrs. Al Kilgore, brother in-law and sister of Mr. Pilch, and Mr. Pilch's mother, Mrs. Anna Pllcn. all of Thermopolis who came on Dec. 20th and left on the 21. Mrs Pilch’s mother, Mrs. Cherie Ish mael. also of Thermopolis arrived on the 21st. for a few days visit I and on the 27th. Morgan Jenkins of Glendive was • guest at the Rich, ard Pilch Nome. Shelly, of Butte planned to leave Monday, Jan. 4th. for their home following a ten day visit with her parents, Mr. and Mra. Myron Lynde. A family reunion was realized dur. Ing the holidays wnen Mr. and Mra. Stanford Lynde of New York were aldo here. Mr. Chauvin waa here for several days but returned to Butte earlier. Mr. and Mra. George Gibson re turned home on Saturday from Roberts where they spent a week Including Christmas day with Mr. and Mra. C. W Donahoe. Mra Gibson was a patient In St. Vincent hospital for a few daya berore going to the Donahoe homa. Mr. and Mra. Donahoe returned to Lodge Grass with the Gibsons’ and remained' until Wednesday. Mra. Ruth Gregory, Mra. Dick Gregory, Mra. Mary Stevens and Mra. John Stevena all called on Mrs. George Gibson on Tuesday. Mr. and Mra. C. W. Among those not already mentioned as having cane home for the vacation are James Wiley who goes to the Bible Insti tute in Oregon, Lawrence Pope who returns to Bozeman, and Nancv Simpson who returns to Eugene. Oregon. Mr. and Mra. John Bowman and family ofValler, Mont left Thurs day for their home after spending the holiday season with Mrs. Bow man’s parents. Mr. and Mra. Clem Overturf. Also here for the holiday* from Valier were Mr. and Mra Charles Overturf. They plan to leave on Sunday, Januay 3rd. for their home. All of the rest of the Overturf children live in this area. They were all home for a family reunion on Christmas day. Mr. and Mrs. Bub Havner and family were New Years’ day guests of Mr. and Mra. Ray Stewart and family. Mrs. Jack Chatham and Infant daughter returned home from Sher idan on January 2nd. Mr and Mrs. Don Barracon and Mrs Sharon Ducept and two chll ren all of Livingston spent th? holiday season with Mra.
