OBSERVE 25 YEARS Mr. and Mrs. Jake Lackman were honored at an open house in observance of their 25th wed ding anniversary at their home on Sunday, Feb. 25. Approximately IGO guests attended the anniver sary celebration. Mr and Mrs. Lackman were married in Billings and moved to Hardin shortly thereafter. They have been residents of this county ever since. All three of their children, Mrs. John Walborn, Miss Rosalie Lackman. who is a stu dent at Eastern college in Billings and Willard Lackman of the fam ily home, were present for the L.W.M.L. MEET Ladies of the L.W.M.L. met Feb. 21 with Mrs Ernest Ketter ling in charge of the meeting. Mrs. Jack Hausauer of Thermop olis. Wyo.. was a guest. Mrs. Dan Ganske led the Mis sion Study entitled "India 1". The "Quarterly Quest" was led by Mrs. Robert Seder. Members were reminded of the meetings to be held Mar. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran church in St. Xavier and of the Lenten services beginning Mar 17. A donation to the Deaf of Mon tana was given in memory of Mrs. Cora Walther An invitation to the 10th bien nial L.W.M.L. Convention to be held in Billings on Apr 25 and 26 was read Mrs. Eunice Dore and Mrs. Ster ling Torske were hostesses. OBSERVES BIRTHDAY Tuesday marked the third birth day of David Saunders who was honored by his mother. Mrs. Lloyd Saunders with a party at their home. There were six guests present o— P.E.O. Mrs. Bob Saunders. Jr., and Mrs. Vivian Elarth were hostesses when members of the P.E.O. met at the Saunders home on Wednes day. Mrs. O. Christopher gave the program entitled "P.E.O Mores." o FAREWELL DINNER Friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Brice Samuelson honored them at a farewell dinner held at the Elks lodge on Wednesday evening. Guests included members of their card club. Holly associates and members of the bowling team. Mr. and Mrs. Samuelson, who left last week to make their home in Forsyth, were presented with a gift from the group. o PINOCHLE WINNERS Mrs. Carl Edwards. HONORED AT TEA The two girls chosen from Big Horn county’s two high schools as D.A.R. citizenship girls were honored at a tea given by the Ab saroka chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution on Saturday, Feb. 24. at the First Methodist church in Hardin. Miss Patty Green of Lodge Grass and Misa Ruthann Lundberg of Hardin were the honorees. Both spoke on the topic "A Republic— If We Can Keep It.” D.A.R. citi zenship pins were presented to both Mrs E E Fitch introduc ed the girls and their mothers. Mrs Marie Green and Mrs. Charles Lundberg. The musical portion of the pro gram was presented by a vocal trio composed of Miss Donna Doane. Misa Virginia Buchfink and Mrs. Leona Conway, accompanied by Mrs. James Newton Douglas Freeman gave a talk on Americanlam. • _ The tea table was centered with a bouquet in red. white and blue Presiding at the tea table and collet services were Mrs Lyle Atkins and Mrs Elmer Showman. The Ana Judson Baptist Mtesion aoctety met in the parsonage base , meet on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. William Snyder was hostess. The nine members and one guest, Mrs. Merle Gustafson, ans wered roll call with a Bible verse. Mrs. Harry Cox, president, pre* sided. Mrs. Sam Shirasago, Sr., presented the devotions. Mrs. Cox reviewed three chapters of the study book “Edge on the Edge” by Theodore Matson. Each member is to call on a neighbor before the next meeting. The next meeting will be a pro gressive luncheon on Latin Ameri can food and will be held Tuesday. Mar. 6, at 1 p.m. in the parsonage basement. All members and guests are urged to attend. MASONIC DINNER St. John's Lodge No. 92 A. F and A. M. held their annual; George Washington Day dinner at 1 the temple on Thursday evening. Garold Fish. James Newton officiat ing. Approximately 150 guests witnessed their vows. Miss Ellis is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Ellis of St. Xavier and Mr. Eichhorn is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lansing Eichhorn of Billings. Michael Sloan sang the “Wed ding Prayer," accompanied by Miss Loretta Moser. The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a floor length gown of chantilly lace, fingertip sleeves and a scalloped neckline. The full hoop skirt featured insets of white net centered with rosettes of sequins. She carried a bouquet of white feathery mums. Her only jewelry was a double strand of pearls, a gift of the groom. Miss Janice Flcgler was maid of honor and Miss Jo Ann Ellis was her sister's bridesmaid. Both wore green velvet sheath dresses with long white gloves and carried horseshoe shaped bouquets of white mums. Bud Carl of Billings served as best man and Swede Johnson of Scobey was his cousin's grooms man Ushers were Bob Delp and Ger ald Ellis The mother of the bride selected a brown dress with Talisman ac cessories and highlighted with a Talisman corsage The mother of the groom chose a beige ensemble with white accessories and a cor sage of mums. The reception followed the cere mony in the basement of the church. Serving the horseshoe shaped cake of white and green were Mrs. Jess Schwend and Mias Lauretta Eichhorn, sister of the groom. Presiding at the silver service were Mrs. Robert Delp, sister of the bride and Mrs. Gerald EUis. Mrs. Orville Svaren, Miss Judy Lind, Miss Geraldine Steinmetz and Mrs. Schwend assisted at the gift table. The bride is a graduate of Lodge Grass high school and is presently attending the Acme Beauty col lege in Billings. The groom is a graduate of Bill ings high school and is attending Eastern Montana college of Edu cation in Billings. For a short wedding trip the new Mrs Eichhorn chose a blue sheath dress. The young couple will make their home in Billings. Prenuptial events included a bridal shower given by Mrs. Rob ert Greenwait and Mrs. Roy Grcenwalt at the Robert Green wait home in St. Xavier. COMMUNICABLE DISEASES The Montana Public Health dis trict announced the following dis eases for Big Horn county for the week ending Feb. 27 as 15 in fluenza and 14 measles. The largest raindrops measure about a quarter of an inch in diameter.
