RIPPLE OF THE RAPIDS.
Thos. Healey has returned from Benton.
Thede Gibson has gone to Minnesota to
spend a couple of months.
Calt. T. P. Fuller has disposed of his t
Butte interests and will remove here.
E. R. Clingan was over from Belt one
day this week. He has entirely recovered
from the effects of the gun shot wound re
ceived some weeks ago.
We have learned that the family of Mr.
Louis Sorrick did not go to Iiighwood
with him. Mrs. Sorrick is staying with
Mrs. Tolbert where they have neat and
commodious dress-making parlors opposite
1)ickinson & Dupont's.
Dr. Fairfield ha; returned from Benton
after an absence of over two months. We
are glad to welcome the genial Dr. home
again, but we dton't see how he is going to
pull through the nmext two years without
that coronetr's salary of os :ti'-dve cents
per annum.
Rlev. John RHI: and others are canvasing -
the subject of establishing a free library
and reading-room in treat Falls, with the
idea of ultimately having a coffee house
connected with it. The object is a most
worthy one and should receive encourage
ment.

A bunch of keys. The finder will please
leave the same at this office, and receive
suitable reward.

A gold ring with amethyst setting. The
finder will be suitably rewarded if he will

For a Daily Mail.
A petition setting forth the necessity of
our having a daily mail is being circulated
and as soon as it has the signatures of
Great Falls people it will be endorsed by
the postmasters at Helena, Benton and
Sun River, then forwarded to J. K. Toole,
who will see that the Second Assistant
P. M. General hears and answers our
prayer.
Death of Mrs. J. E. Stevens.
We are deeply pained to learn of the
death of Mrs. Stevens, wife of the editor
Townsend Traachant, which occurred at
her father's house on Deep t
week. She was a bride <<f but .
months, an estimable lady whose many
womanly qualities endeared her to a large
circle of friends. Another house of joy
has been turned into a house of mourning.
Sympathy at such time4can do little to as
suage the grief of the brereaved ones.
