Henry, of the firm of Henry & Randall, left last Monday for Indian apolis, Great Falls and Choteau are to have 1 lock-ups provided them at the county ex 1 pease. The fire company pays $5 to the first I water wagon reaching the scene of a con flagration. Joe. Bellevieu, of Sun River was in town this week. Joe. expects to locate here in the near future. Since the snow has gone off, there has been raking and scraping, and a general cleaning up around town. Since the snow has gone, and the roads dried up, cquite a number have been enjoy ing the pleasure of buggy riding. c The saddle lost with the horse in the river last week was recovered below the falls by Jack Aylwin on Tuesday. Dexter has an engine en 'route for his t ferry boat, so that he can, in the future, I land anywhere along the river banks. c Hugh Patton, the well known Sun Riv er meat man, has located here permanent ly, and iS engaged with the Excelsior Co. Mr. Jas. A. Walker, a prominent Sand r Coulee wool grower, says his loss during I the winter will not exceed nine per cent. Ira Myers' mill is in trim'for work, and will commence sawing as soon as the logs come down the river which will be very t soon. c H. S. Melntire, of Benton who held a t clerkship in the house during the late ses- f sion, stopd over here Wednesday en route a home. E. G. Maclay and family arrived here Sunday .. route to Benton. Webster returned Wednesday from a two months visit at his old home in Minnesota. Charley's many friends here heartily welcome him back. J. S. Bartholomew-from Grand Forks Dakota has been-in towin for several days. It his intention to start a brick yard, in which will be every improved appliance. Phil Gibson has removed his office tem yh porarily into the back partof Harris' store. The honest rancher is in town this week ill and has a story to tell:about a wind storm which occurred this winter, which he winds up with the assertion, "it blew my er, cat two miles away." The cat still lives. D. G. Browne, of Benton stopped over ry here one day this week, en route home L- from a three weeks absence in the states. Dave says Dakota and Minnesota are still ye bedecked with a bountiful supply of the beautiful. T. A. Wall, of Otter creek was in town rst this week. He says the Meagher county n- commissioners, of which body he is amem ber, will immediately complete the road leading from Neihart to the Choteau county line. re The 1st Presbyterian church has elected trustees for the ensuing term as follows: as James A. Walker, president; H. A. Ring al wald, secretary. Directors, J. R. Ross, S. A. Beachley and Frank Gehring. It is da the intention of the trustees to erect a $1,000 temporary church building Imme diately. A druken loafer made Central avenue r blue one day this week with obscene blasphemy. Quite a large crowd assembled on the d river bank near the dam to witness the passage of the ice down stream. It was a t grand sight to see the immense blocks of ice tumble over the dam,grinding, crunch d ing, splitting, tons of it piling over one . s another. The ice gorge several miles up y the river is now completely gone.
