[From Friday's Daily.] SMany new flings have been made re cently., About 200 ss are employed at the Mrs. Frank Webster gives a card party this evening. Three men were up today for robbing a man of $ and a watch. The case was adjourned. There is considerable talk of the com ing tax sale. Mr. Brady has obtained an injunction, forbiding the sale of his lots. -. Frank -Wilcox, yesterday, received a cablegram from his mother stating that she and daughter were at present doing Italy. There will be no practice of the Old Follis"conert choir at the Arion hall this evening, as several prominent mem bers are-otherwise engaged. Mrs. Whitney and daughter left on the noon train for Helena, where they will reside permanently. Miss Whitney is a popular young society-lady and will leave many-friends regretting her departure. From a letter received from Mr. O. G. Cooper of Choteau by ex-Sheriff Black of this city, it is learned that a terrible fire occurred on the Muddy, atributary of the Teton, by which 400 tons of hay, a team of horses, corrals, etc., were consumed. River Press. MonTArnA should feel proud that she has at Great Falls reduction works, which embody all the latest improvements anl are tulning out daily large quantities of bullion. Instead of sending ore to Oma ha or other remote points, Montana and Idaho miners can now have the mineras reduced at home. Tai Chicago, reporter Bradley, killed hs wns e eviidntly from a sense of duty. He saw thatthe papers lacked the daily local sensation and determined that he would not be found wanting. Fearing that his zeal would be unappreciated or that his report would be cut down, he then shot himself. PEOPLE will rush pell-mell into Okla homa as soon as that district is opened up. The craze, it appears, has struck Kansas City, and.persons are, preparing actively to join the "boomers." While people are thus struggling for a quarter section they could do better around Great Falls where in soil, climate and location, we can beat Oklahoma all to piecpes. 'THE growth of Great Falls and the completion of the Manitoba and Montana Central railroads have given a powerful impulse toall Montana. To that impulse may be traced the haste of the Northern Paciflc to build the R~cky Fork railroad, the proposed line from the Gallatin valley to Butte and the establishment of the Helena smelter. The Impulse continues. Ma. Boos waved his wand and lo! the Record changed' owners and came forth arrayed inth, associated press franchise. The Helena magician will net.transform the Record into the Helena Journial which will teach pure and unadulterated republicanism to the dwellers in Last 'Chance gulch. The clash of the contend ing journals in Helena, will soon be heard far, and wide.
