Turner News.. Mr. and Mrs. George Ammen were St. Paul visitors last week. They attended the central Ex change meeting. Ingeman Svendsen of Hogeland was a caller at the Art Jones home one day last week. ■Bob Simons drove home a new truck which he purchased at St. Paul where he attended the an nual Central Exchange meeting. Gus Cderburg is vacationing in Washington and Oregon. Aben Cederburg underwent min or surgery at a Havre hospital Tuesday of this week. The people of the community were sorry to hear of Mrs. Bill Reed's injury and wish her a speedy recovery. Ernest Staples has returned home after several days of hos pitalization at Havre and reports he is feeling fine now. Mr. and Mrs. Hartzel were Sun day evening guests at the Martin Roseburg home last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Art Egbert, Con nie and Laura are living in John Billmayer’s trailer house while repairs are made on their home. Sandy and Sidney are staying on at their grandmother and grand father Billmayer’s for the next few weeks. Herbert Gruss, Chinook con tractor, is doing the building at the Art Egbert home and is pro gresing rapidly. Mr. and Mrs. Wellen Jones and son Warren spent several days the past week in Great Falls where Mr. Jones received medi cal treatment. Ole Nesheim drove to the hot plunge and brought Mrs. Nes heim and Mrs. Guy Warren home last Thursday. Mrs. Mary Spoonheim and son Bob were Sunday guest/ at the Melvin Spoonheim home in Gal ata. Montana. Mrs. Gordon Booth and daugh ters arrived Sunday for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hutton. Bob Spoonheim returned home Friday night from a business trip to Minnesota and Illinois. Mr. and Mrs. Elvyn Wolery were callers in Havre on Friday and while there visited Mrs. Mike Stones, Oscar Jensven and Clar ence Nace who are all patients at the Deaconess hospital. Clarence Hendrickson of Wag ner was a Turner visitor on Sun day. Mrs. Ida Faulk returned home on Saturday after convalescing at the Ray Birdwell home in Havre. - ~ The Northern Case will be un der the management of ~Xrs. John Billmayer and Donald Nel son left Friday to spend some time in Ophiem drilling wells for the Radar Base. The John Billmayer motored to Havre Thursday on business. Frank Billmayer flew to Great Falls to take flight instruction tests on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Baker of Har lem were callers at the T 1 Hed strom home. A large crowd attended the Senior Class Pancake supper on Tuesday, and all enjoyed the food. Mr. and Mrs. Wallie Wing and son, Mr. and Mrs. I Svendsen and Alice were guests at the Norman Svendsen home Friday. Carol Holloway and Ronnie Brandon spent the week end at the Melvin Holloway home. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Snider re ceived word from their son, Pvt. Ralph Snider that he has been transferred to Fort Knox, Ken. from Fort Ord( Calif. The John Martin family visited at the Aaron Lacox home Wed nesday afternoon. Also guests were the Elmer Snider’s and Ed ward. Mrs. Hadley Ashcraft of Tur ner visited at the home of her daughter. Mrs. John Martins and family one day last week. The Bud Rafter family were Sunday visitors at the A. Lacox home. Zurich News.. Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Bulunann have gone to California for bee supplies. Mrs. Oscar Berger entertain ed at a Stanley party last Wed nesday. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grim have returned from a five week trip tn visit relatives and friends in Arizona, California, Oregon and Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Countryman from Marys ville, Wash, accompanied them- Bob Buhmann and boys have returned from Billings, where they and others attended a Boys’ Practice Shoot. Mrs. Alvina Hofeldit entretain ed at a McNess party Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Erbacher left in a vacation trip to points in the west Patsy Prestbo accompanied the Henry Grims from Great Falls to Zurich and continued on to Saco from here. Hilda Drugge, Phyllis Buh man and Christine Miller re turned from Great Falls. They visited with (Dorethy) Mr. and Mrs. Hendrickson while there. Mr. and Mrs. E. Lybeck have returned to their ranch north of Zurich after being away since November. Turner Future Homemakers 4-H Club Meeting The fifth meeting of the Turner Future Homemakers 4-H club was attended by 14 members, two vis tors and the leader. Mrs. Ritter. Presidnt Donna Ritter was in charge of the meeting . A committee report was given by Gaylen Ashcraft on the 4-H display for National 4-H Week. A food sale was also discussed. Demonstrations were given by Marilyn Statelen and Gaylen Ash craft, and talks were given by Ro berta and Alberta Statelen. Tha hostess, Mrs. Ashcraft ser ved a very nice lunch following the meeting. Nesheims Hosted Bridge Club Mr. and Mrs. Ole Nesheim en tertained the Bridge Club ladies and their husbands at their home Friday evnlng. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Archie Sanguins, Mr. and Mrs. Art Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn McCracken, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Fouts, Mr. and Mrs. August Sveen, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Warren, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Norton, Mrs. Mcßoberts, Mrs. Staples, Mrs. Stirling, Martin Hauge and Clar ence Simons. Pinochle and bridge were play ed, with Mrs. Archie Sanguins winning high prize, Mrs. Stirling received high cut, and Mrs. Fouts was sitting on the lucky chair and received a prize. Following play, a very nice lunch was served. The Whist Club will meet at the Nesheim home next Friday. Christian Church Held Fellowship The Jubalaircs of the Minne sota Bible College were guests at the Fellowship Hour of the Chris tian church held Monday evening, March 9. A pot luck supper preceded a program of singing by the Jubal aires, a girls’ quartet. Don Rig gin, registrar of the college, gave a very enjoyable sermon during the evening. Community singing vas led by Ed Bowers, also of the college. The Jubalaircs were thanked for their entertainment and the hope was expressed that they would again favor this group with another appearance in the fu ture. ODO Club Held Regular Meeting The 0.D.0. Club met at the home of Mrs. Joe Hutton on Tues day, March 10, with 13 members present. The club was honored with one visitor, Mrs. George Am men. Mrs. Hutton served a delicious low calorie luncheon at noon. A short business meeting was then held, after which the hostess, as sisted by Mrs. Graham Hutton, gave a very interesting lesson on low calories. Mrs. Elvyn Wolery was the win ner of the promptness prize. The next meeting will be held Thursday, April 3, at the home of Mrs. Clayton Irwin with Mrs. Ber nard Halvorson as co-hostcss. Hot Lunch Menu At Turner School Following is the hot lunch menu at the Turner school for the week of March 16 through 20: Monday — Nodles with beef, creamed peas, jello, milk, peanut butter sandwiches. Tuesday — Baked beans with ham, cabbage and apple salad, berry cobbler, bread and butter, milk. Wednesday — Creamed turkey and gravy, mashed potatoes, green salad, bread and butter and milk. Thursday — Potato salad, lun cheon meat, cheese wedges, bread and butter, cake, milk. Friday — Macaroni and tuna salad, cheese wedges, Town House crackers, cinnamon rolls. Modem Mrs. Club Meeting The Modern Mrs. Home Demon stration club met on Tuesday eve ning, March 3, at the home of Mrs. Alden McCracken with Mrs. James Vick as co-hostess. There were 12 members present. Following the business meeting, Mrs. Hugh Hutton of the ODO club gave an interesting lesson on ’’Selection and care of uphol stery furniture.” A very delicious lunch was ser ved by the hostesses at the close of the evening. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Dean Van Voast with Mrs. Bob Simons as co-hostess. This will be on April 7. Dodson News Week of Feb. 27 Mr. and Mrs. Charles Swatek visited with friends in Hingham ] the past weekend. Mrs. Good heart visited with her sons in Harlem and Chinook. Mrs. Cloie Bronson and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Black motor ed to Billings and Hardin last Friday. Mrs. Bronson will visit friends in Billings and with the Paul Geller family in Hardin, whie Mr. and Mrs- Black attend the wedding of Mrs. Black’s sister. A nice crowd attended the basketball tournament in Malta and watched the Dodson Coy otes again win. Congratulations boys, we also enjoyed the num bers our band played in opening night. Kitty McLeod is holding a tea at her home this Friday after noon for benefit of Crusade for Freedom. Week of March 6 Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Moran visited relatives in Glasgow last Sunday. A nice crowd turned out for the benefit card party at the Legion Club last Friday. Whist was played. Highs were won by Sadie Pope and Nick Dolphay Lows went to Mrs. Goodheart and Mr. Swatek. Nell Bremmer drew the door prize. Mr. and Mrs. Vic Nordlund, jr. and family are now occupy ing the S. W. Fry home for the remainder of the school year. Mr. and Mrs. Milo Anderson of Harlem visited at the Swatek home on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Nicholson and Sandra attended the basket ball tournament at Fort Benton last weekend. Week of March 13 Five tables of whist were played last Sunday evening at the CLC card party with Mrs. Jake Appelhans, Mrs- Don Pope Mrs. Bud Phillips and Mrs. Sherman Doucette, hostesses. Highs for the evening went to Otto Wilke and Lester Loney. Lows went to Nick Dolphay and Mrs. Martin. Chet Kienenberget drew the door prize. There will be another party next Sunday evening. Kolknan from Hays was in town on business Sunday and visited at tihe Swatek home- Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Godheart and Mrs. Robert Hblman and children visited at the Swatek home on Sunday. Dick Black is busy these days repairing some of the buildings at the county fair grounds. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Morgan, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Swatek, Kitty McLeod and Mrs. Jake Appelhans attended the basket ball game in Wolf Point last Monday between the Dodson Coyotes and Medicine Lake, who played for second place. Belknap News The Justa Club met Tuesday al the home of Mrs. George Spruce with Mrs. Robert Alberts assist ing. Fifteen members were pre sent. An account of a trip by car from St. Louis to southern Idaho 45 years ago was given by Mrs. Varnum. The hostess served de licious refreshments. The April meeting will be at the home of Mrs. R. Williams. Mrs. John Varnum and two dau ghters of Missoula arrived Wed nesday afternoon for a few days visit at the Varnum home, then will go to Fairview to visit her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Nelson. Mrs. Pete Ekegren and infant son accompanied them. Elaborate plans to exterminate a family Of skunks that has been coming into the office building basement through old pipe con duct were made for Wednesday evening. The firing squad stood by while the smoke squad at tempted to flush the intruders out. But the animals refused to co operate so are still at large to perfume the premises. Plans were made for the an nual Legion birthday supper dhich this year will observe the 40th an niversary of the American Legion. The event will be held on Sunday, March 15, in the Lutheran church basement. Hays News... Word has been received from Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Warrior that a daughter was born to them on Feb. 5, in Fall Brook, Calif., where Kenneth is again serving with’tiie Marines at Camp Pendleton.
