This week we have one that sounds good and will be something different for our menus. These could be made ahead of time and frozen, I am sure. Kabobs Cut good qualtiy beef in. thick into 116 inch cubes. Mari nate in soy sauce for about 2 hours. (If preferred, a French or Italian dressing may be us ed). Alternate meat cubes with mushroom caps and onion slices on metal skrewers. Brush with melted butter or margarine and broil for 25-30 minutes. Brush again eaoh time you turn the kabobs. Other suggestions are: small tomates, pepper slices, parboiled new potatoes. North Central Montana Cow- Belles will host the state bien niel Cowßelles meeting this fall. The meeting will be an all day meeting and will include a no host luncheon and two coffee hours North Central Cowßelles will host the coffee hours. This meeting will be held in Havre at the Eagles on September 26. and is open to all Cowßelles and anyone who is interested. All are invited and are urged to at tend. Will those who plan to attend please call or write Mrs. Lawrence Mitchell, Chinook, by September 15th so she can make final arrangements and reserva tions for the luncheon. This is important! Further details will be announced later but do make plans now to attend. It will be an enjoyable day I can assure vou. Land Bank Reports Long Time Loans Farmers and ranchers borrow ed $2,000,300.00 from the Fed eral Land Bank Association of Havre during the fiscal year ended June 30, 1963. Fay Rathbone, association manager, said borrowers used proceeds from the long-term loans to purchase land and live stock, make improvements, to pay for operations and to refi nance indebtedness. The current fiscal year loan volume was $15,400.00 less than in the preceding 12-month per iod. Rathbone said. The aver age size of loan was $35,000.00, representing an increase of $26,- 400.00 over the average ten years ago. Rathbone said the FLBA makes and services loans for the Federal Land Bank of Spo kane in Hill. Blaine and Liberty' counties. At June 30, this year, the association had $8,659,500.00 in outstanding loans, an increase of $1,273,700.00 over the same date in 1962.
