f OCTOBER SESSION The Board of County Commis sioners met in regular session for the October term on October 1 st, 1945, and held twenty-nine sessions, during: the • term. Parts of four days was taken up with County Welfare work, with County Welfare Supervisor McCarthy in attendance. The Board approved the follow ing: appointments: Kathryn Little, office deputy in the Sheriff's office; Shirley Parks deputy in the Audi tor's office: Catherine Ann Ham mer, secretary and stenographer in the County Attorney's office; Mae Hoff, Ada B. Grisham and Lorene Bates, as assistants in the County Clerk's office. The following: revocations of ap pointments were approved: By the County Clerk: Martha Ostwald deputy and Delores Higgins, assist ant; By the Sheriff: May O'Donnell, office deputy. The quarterly reports, for the quarter ending: September 30th, of Emil Borberg, Justice of Peace of Billings Judicial Township and F. H. Suddith, justice of Peace of Laurel Judicial Township were filed. The commissioners were granted permission to absent themselves from the State at various times in the next sixty days. The Board approved the applica tion of Geo. Smith for a dance hall license for the Horseshoe Bar and license was issued by the clerk. Application was made to the State for a refund of $468.00, cov ering: gasoline tax on 9,360 gal lons of gasoline used by the County Highway Department. The Board ordered a duplicate warrant issued to Theodora Roybal for $4.00 on the County poor fund, warrant No. 77932 issued on Sep tember 17th, 1945, having been lost, upon filing a bond in the amount of $ 8 . 00 . The report of the County Audi tor showing the results of his ex amination of the fee books and accounts of the several County and Township officers for the month of September was approved. The acceptance of the County Treasurer of $100,000.00 in U. S. Treasury notes, pledged by the Bil lings State Bank to secure County deposits in the said bank was ap proved by the Board. To Lon J. Marsh for $9,997.45, Lands in various sections, 5N and 28 and 29 East. To Ralph Botts for $6,515.22, All sections 3, 25 and 35, 6 N, 32 East; Sections 11, 15, 17 and 23, 6 N, 32 East. To Charles E. and Helene B. Burke for $25.00, Lot 13, Block 10, Laurel Heights Subdivision, Laurel. To Louis Dousman for $400.00, NE 34 Section 26, 3N, 27 East.
