Bill Sorg, who has been out of the Laurel lineup with a sprained ankle up to this game, teamed with Sonny Wold to spark the team to victory with 13 and 9 points respectively. The win was especially sweet for the Laurel high school in that it only the third time that they was have been able to defeat the Carbon county boys on their own floor in the two schools. The Locomotives, who have set aside their devastating fast break for the early part of the season, worked the ball deliberately against Carbon school and posted most of their scoring with deathly long shots to draw out the defenses, and then fed into the post men under the basket. The half time score showed Laurel ahead only two points, 21 to 19. In the second canto, however, the margin widened and the Purple and Gold went into the fourth period with a 10-point lead which the second team increased to 13 by the final whistle. Saturday night the first string worked the smaller Custer high school team for a 20-point lead by the half, and then went to the showers while the second team fought through the second half to a 14 to 12 margin in downing the third opponent of the week, 44 to i'll. CABOOSES' AND JUNIOR HIGH WIN GAMES The Junior high downed the Rob erts team 42 to 12 and then eked out a 19 to 18 victory over Red Lodge Friday afternoon for their third win of the year against no defeats. The Laurel B team registered its first win of the year over the Rob erts A-five 37 to 28 in which Bob Sorg kept the family tradition by scoring 22 points for top honors. Saturday the team easily defeat ed Stroup Hardware 35 to 15, for the second victory, with all 10 men seeing action in the contest. Bob Kass and Everet Moorman took scoring honors with seven each. tives in Sonny Wold du res of the night be sai EDGAR HIGH HERE SATURDAY The Edgar Junior high school and the high school basketball squads will clash Saturday night, starting at 7 p. m., against Leon Foote's Junior high school boys and the Laurel B squad. Both teams are undefeated to date, with the Ca booses holding a victory over the A-Five from Roberts. Edgar also holds a conference win over Rob erts. Intramural Games, Team Standings In class A intramural basketball the Dodgers won over the Pirates, 15 to 12. The Yankees broke their winning streak when they were de feated by the Red Sox, 35 to 16. Wagner was high man for the win ning Red Sox and Ludwig ran up the score for the Yankees. The Cards got a bye. In class B, the Rockets came out top, 10 to 8, over the Sluggers. The Bulldogs won over the Grizzlys 18 to 8 with Freund high point man for the winners. The Meteors drew a bye.
