Everybody is pleased with the way beet yields and sugar content are turning out this year. Such a valuable crop deserves careful harvest ing in order to realize fullest returns. Beets should be delivered as soon as possible after they have been dug from the ground and the fields should be cleaned up each day so that no har vested beets are left out in the open over night to be damaged by frost. A quick orderly harvest is desirable, but speed for its own sake works against the farmer's inter est if the work is carelessly done. It is very important to check frequently on ad justment of the topping device of harvesting ma chines to make sure that the beets are being topped right. i I I Farmers are to be congratulated on progress to date.
