Fitzpatrick, <iaught<?r of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fitzpatrick of Sioux City, lowa, and Norbert J. Dougherty, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. it Dougherty of Wolf Point, were married at nup tial mass at the St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Sioux City on Saturday, September 7. The Rev. Father Edward C. Lilly officiated. The church was decorated with pink and white gladioli on the altars. ..The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was at tired in a gown of white satin and marquisette with train, and her fingertip veil was held in place by a juliet cap of lace. Her only jewels were pearls, a gift of the groom. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses. Attendants were Miss Margaret Dougherty, sister of the groom, and Jack J. Fitzpatrick, brother of the bride. Miss Marguerite Fitzpatrick was bridesmaid and Giles Beacom was usher. The maid of honor and brides maid wore pink and blue gowns with matching headdresses and bouquets of pompoms. Mrs. Fitzpatrick wore black and Mrs. Dougherty wore brown with matching corsages of gardenias and sweet peas. The bride’s travelling costume was of gray gabardine with Navy blue accessories. A wedding breakfast was held at the Mayfair hotel, attended by thirty relatives of the couple. Mr. and Mrs. Fitzpatrick gave an aft ernoon reception at their home for the many friends of the young people. Out-of-town guests at the wed ding were Mr. and Mrs. P. R. Dougherty and the Misses Angela. Margaret. Alice and Kathleen Dougherty of Wolf Point: Mrs. Frank Crimmins and daughters, of Egan, S. Dak.; Miss Mary Ellen Heeney of Hubbard, Miss Elaine Bowen of Cherokee, W. Graham of Dakota City, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thompson of Anthon, and Miss Mary Raiche of Maple Lake, Minnesota. After a wedding trip to the Black Hills and Yellowstone Park, Mr. and Mrs. Dougherty will be at home to their friends at 501 Montana street at Butte, where the groom is t mployed. Both young people are veterans of the late war, Mrs. Dougherty with the Nurse Corps, and the groom with the Air Force in the ETO. Legion Auxiliary Begins Year’s Work At Meeting Monday The Wolf Point American Legion Auxiliary opened the year’s work at a meeting held Monday eve ning, September 16, at the home of Mrs. Paul Nygaard. Assistant hostesses were Mrs. Harry Casey and Mrs. Les Zimmerman and Mrs. Sadie Rankin. There was a good turnout pres ent in spite of the heavy rain storm in progress. Routine busi ness included the appointment of committees by the president, Mrs. Guy A. Miller, which brought up the subject of the Hope Chest, with Mrs. H. W. Bryan and Mrs. A. M. Foor in charge of the plan ning. Mrs. Miller reported on the state convention held in July and gave many interesting items not in cluded in the business report. Mrs. Sprague brought up the subject of the constitution and it Was decided that each member >vould study the document at her leisure. The next meeting will be held the third Monday in October at the home of Mrs. Frank Catlin. The standing committees for the year will be published in a later is? ue of the paper. A business visitor in Wolf Point last Friday was Andrew Sasson of Frazer. BIRTHDAY PARTY AT MATT OSHANICK’S Thirty guests gathered at the Matt Oshanick home in the Vida community last Sunday to honor Mr. Harry Oshanick of Belfield, N. Dak., who was a visitor at his son’s home for the past two weeks. The occasion was Mr. Oshaniek’s sixty-second birthday. Supper was served to the guests with plenty of birthday cake for all and he received many fine gifts from his friends. Zane F. Lund Takes Alabama Bride at Double Wedding A double wedding performed by the Rev. H. P. Mathison of the Trinity Methodist Church at Phoenix City, Alabama, on August 31, united the Misses Lucille and Frances Platt to Zane F. Lund and Cpl. Ernest Henderson. The impressive double ring cer emony was held by candlelight at 8 o’clock in the evening. Attend ants to Miss Lqcille Platt and Zane Lund were Miss Mildred Underwood of Columbus, Ga., and Dawson E. Platt, brother of the brides. The other couple was at tended by Mrs. E. J. Jordan, sis ter of the groom, and Hayward Norman of Columbus. Wilson Platt, brother of the brides, and B. W. Underwood served as ush-‘ era. Nuptial music was furnished by Dan Hooks, director of the Hamp Stephens Methodist church of Columbus, Ga., who sang ‘Always,’’ “Because” and the “Ivord’s Pray er.” He was accompanied at the piano by Miss Mary Riddle of Boston, Mass. The brides wore navy blue suits with whitie lace trim and had corsages of purple throated or chids and carried white Bibles. The sisters are daughters <sf Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Platt of Salem, Alabama, and Mr. Lund is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Lund of Wolf Point. Cpl. Henderson is the son of Reverend and Mrs. Charles M. Henderson of Winter Haven, Fla. Cpl. and Mrs. Henderson will make their home at Columbus, Ga., and Mr. and Mrs. Lund will reside at the groom’s ranch north of Wolf Point. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Slagle Honored by 200 Guests Sunday A wedding shower was held for Mr. and Mis. Gerald Slagle (Mrs. Slagle is the former Nora Baw den) at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Bawden, Sunday afternoon with over 200 guests attending. Centerpiece on the table at lunch-time was a huge six-tier wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom. This cake was baked by Mrs. Leslie Witt. The bride and groom .opened their gifts together before lunch, which was served by friends. The men spent the afternoon playing horseshoe and kittenball. Pictures of the bride and groom and the family were taken. Mr. and Mrs. Slagle left for their home on a farm near Willis ton, N. Dak., Monday. Lucille Johnson Wed at Pontiac, Michigan Last Wednesday Miss Lucille Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo B. John son of Wolf Point, and John W. Shireman, son of Edwin I. Shire man of Pennsylvania, were mar ried by candle-light service at the Presbyterian church in Pon tiac, Michigan, on Wednesday, September 11. Wolf Point, Koooerelt CMMty, Montana Eileen Lenz Marries At Columbia Falls Saturday Morning Eileen Dolores Lenz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Lenz, form erly of Wolf Point, now living at Columbia Falls, was united in marriage to G. Noel Reeves at nuptial mass at the St. Richard’s Catholic church on Saturday, Sep tember 14, at 9 a.m. with the Reverend Father Faley officiat ing at the double ring ceremony. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a chocolate brown wool crepe suit with matching accessories. Her corsage was of yellow roses. Her attendant was Mrs. Robert Jor dan, attired in a light green suit with brown accessories and a red rose corsage. Mr. Jordan served as best man. The bride’s mother wore a grey suit with green accessories and the groom’s 'mother wore black, each with a gardenia corsage. The church was decorated in pink and white gladioli and white and orchid pom-poms, with palms and ferns as a background. Two lighted candelabra added to the effectiveness of the decorations. A wedding breakfast was held immediately after the ceremony at the New Lund case, with the bridal party and close relatives in attendance. The table was deco rat in pom-poms and gladioli and a large three-tier wedding cake, topped by a miniature bride and groom, was the centerpiece. The bride is well known in the Wolf Point community, having attended school her 6 and has since her graduation last June from the Columbia Falls schools, been employed at Belton. The groom is the son of Ora Reeves of Columbia JTalls and Mrs. Clarisse Croy of Kelso, Wash. He is a graduate of the Columbia Falls schools and has been in the U. S. Marines for the past three years, two of which were spent in the southwest Pa cific. He is now employed by the Dunham Lumber Co., of Columbia Falls. The couple will make their home in that city following a two weeks wedding trip which includes visits at Spokane, Seattle and Kelso, Washington, and Portland, Oregon. Luellyn Rhoades Wed at Kirkland, Washington, Sept. 7 Luellyn Rhoades became the bride of Raleigh Gentry, Jr., in a ceremony in the St. Paul’s Lu theran church in Kirkland, Wash., at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7. Mrs. Lee Johnson, sister of the groom, was matron of honor and Jack Galyan of Seattle was best man. The bride wore a gray chalk - stripe suit; her corsage was of rose buds and stephanotes. The matron of honor wore a black and fuschia suit; her corsage was of yellow roses. Following the ceremony, a re ception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Johnson. Those present Mrs. Bessie Gentry, Fran cis, Kenneth and George Gayle Gentry, Mr. and Mrs. James Gen try and son, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Larter, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rizzo, Doris Rhoades, Jack Gal yan and Mr. and Mrs. Lee John son and daughter. Mrs. Gentry, formerly of Wolf Point, has been employed in Seattle for several months. The bridegroom made his home at Medicine I^ake, Mont., before en tering service. The newlyweds will make their home in Seattle where Mr. Gentry is employed. .Mrs. Eggebrecht Honored by Friends Sunday Afternoon Friends and relatives assembled Sunday afternoon for a birthday dinner in honor of Mrs. Frank Eggebrecht of Vida. Those at tending were Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Dougherty of Wolf Point, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hoffman and daugh ter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Egge brecht, Mr. and Mrs. John Schll linger, Mr. and Mrs. Kelly and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. E. Ray mond, and Stanley Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Dougherty spent the entire week end at the home of Mrs. Frank' Eggebrecht, mother of Mrs. Dougherty. FAM IL Y DINNER AT WOLF POINT PARISH HALL The P. R. Doughertys and fam ily, the E. J. Codys and family, and the John McLachlan family, and Mrs. Mary McKay enjoyed a family dinner held at the Parish Hall last Sunday at one o'clock. Mrs. McKay is a sister of Mr. Dougherty and Mrs. McLachlan. BIRTHDAY PARTY AT DULLENTY’S A birthday supper was held last Wednesday evening at the A. E. Dullenty home to honor Mr. Dul lenty's mother. Mrs. B. C. Flee nor and "Grandma" Nail were guests besides the relatives. Grant Moore officiated at a double ring ceremony for Do lores May Siljenberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Siljenberg of Wolf Point, and Howard Burton Porter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wal ter Ported of Everson, Washing ton. The service was by candle light at 5:30 Sunday evening. September 15, in the Methodist church at Glasgow. - Attendants were Mrs. Forrest Cole, sister of the bride, and Mil ton Siljenberg, brother of the bride. The bride wore a gray wool suit with black accessories;, the bride’s attendant wore a royal blue suit with black accessories. The bride and attendant had matched corsages of red roses and white gladioli. Mr. Buron Richter was organist and Mrs. Roger Orr soloist. Mrs. Orr sang “Oh Promise Me” and ‘“At Dawning.” After the wedding a dinner for the bridal couple and relatives was served by Mrs. Cole, at her home. The bride is a 1943 graduate of Wolf Point high school. After completing a radio, electronic and aeronautic course in Minneapolis, she was employed for a year and a half by the Alaskan Communi cations System. The groom attended Everson high school and later spent two years in army service, including a year and a half in France and Germany. They will spend a week in Yel lowstone Park and then go to their home in Everson Washing ton where the groom is engaged in fruit farming. Jr. Woman’s Club Meets Monday Eve; Five New Members Last Monday evening the Jun ior Woman’s Club of Wolf Point met at the home of Mrs. P. M. Feda with Miss Katherine Haas as assistant hostess. A short business meeting was held at which tme committees for the coming year were appointed and five new candidates elected to membership in the club. The next meeting will be held October 7 with Amber Jacobi and Bertha .Maltby serving as host esses. It is planned to hold initia tion of new members at this meeting. Engagement of Joan Arrivee to Oregon Man is Announced Mr. and Mrs. Charles Arrivee of Wolf Point announce the en gagement of their daughter, Joan, to Elden Wagenblast of The Dalles, Oregon. They will be mar ried on September 29 in Salem, Oregon. DINNER PARTIES AT MORRIS NYGAARDS Mr. and Mrs. Morris Nygaard entertained at dinner last Satur day evening at their home in Wolf Point. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Casey and Denny, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nygaard and Lila. On Tuesday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Nygaard had as dinner guests, Mr. and Mrs. H. B.
