Page Four SOCIAL AND PERSONAL ITEMS Lottie Stalheim, Jacob A. Schlepp Wed at Billings Lottie Mae Stalheim, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Egge brecht of Billings, became the bride of Jacob A. Schlepp, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob A. Schlepp, Sr., of Vida, in a cere mony at the bride's parents' home at 2 o'clock, September 12, with Rev. Baumgartiner of the Eng lish Lutheran church officiating. Attendants were Mrs. Ervin Schutt, sister of the bride, and Louie Schlepp, brother of the groom. The bride wore a gray pin striped suit with a corsage of roses. The matron of honor wore a gray suit with a corsage of yel low roses. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception, with only the immediate families of the bride and groom present. The bride has been employed in Billings for the past year; the bridegroom resided with his par ents at Vida before entering service. Feick Officiates at Three Sept. Weddings During the past two weeks, Judge Feick has officiated in three marriage ceremonies. The first was September 11 for Alvin Joseph Overberg of Milwaukee, Wis., and Doris Roberta Kirkal die of Dodson. Donella Rush and Dorothy Iwen were witnesses. The ceremnoy September 12 was for Emil Wee of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, and Mary Gaffney of Glasgow. Witnesses were Mrs. Archie Kidd and Sig l#andee. September 17, James Willard Hader, of Havre, and Mary Ix>uise Gray Hawk of Poplar were unit ed in marriage. Kenneth D. Eagle and Justin Hale were witnesses. N. Dakota Couples Wed in Wolf Point By Rev. Normann Rev. Rolf A. Normann of the First Lutheran Church in Wolf Point officiated at the marriages of two North Dakota couples the past week. Participants in the marriages were Elmer Mohn and Dorothy King of Epping, N. Dak., who were married on September 24. with Beda Erickson and Myron Overlie attendants, and Charles Eelig and Ruth Bruns of Willis ton, N. Dak., attended by Kenneth Olson and Millie Bruns were unit ed in marriage on September 19. Verine Long Wed to Neil Hanson at Glendive Sept. 16 Verine Long and Neil Hanson, both of Wolf Point, were united in marriage before the Justice of the Peace in Glendive last Mon day, September 16. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hanson were witnesses. The bride wore a gold suit with black accessories. The bride and groom will reside on a farm south of Wolf Point. “OPEN HOUSE” HELD AT P. R. DOUGHERTY HOME Open house was held at the P. R. Dougherty home Wednesday eveping from 7-11 in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Dougherty’s son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Norbett Dougherty, who ar rived in Wolf Point from Sioux City. lowa, last week end. FAREWELL PARTY GIVEN FOR LURA DELL HALL As a farewelll gesture for Lura Dell Hall’s leaving for school in Missoula, Donna Jean Evans served a picnic lunch to a group of young people a week ago Sun day. After lunch the group at tended the rodeo in Poplar. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Nefzger were business callers in Wolf Point Monday. Each had used his favorite kind of fly, his favorite rod and his favorite place to cast. So over a friendly glass of beer, they al lowed as how maybe they were both right . . . which is how so many arguments should end. Harold Isachsen of Wolf Point made a business trip to Glasgow Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Journagen spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Nefzger. Mr. and Mrs. O. Opgrande left for Great Falls on business Tues day morning. I#oretta Stidolph left for Fargo, N. Dak., to attend the New York Beauty Academy. Leonard Jacobs, of Great Falls, arrived for a visit in Wolf Point on Tuesday of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Buettner and Mr. and Mrs. John Spitzer spent Thursday in Williston. Jorden E. Smith and Tommy Saby of Poplar were business cal lers in Wolf Point Monday. Mr. and Mrs. George of the Silver Star community were shop ping visitors in Wolf Point Mon day. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Michael and son Wayne of Peerless were week end guests at the James Rada home. Mr. and Mrs. John Mortenson, Jr. and daughter of Richland were business visitors in Wolf Point Tuesday. Members of a hunting party Sunday were Dr. Feda Wayne Gillette Lyman Clayton and Cliff Mawhinney. Thelma Wilson and Betty Baw den went to Williston over the week end to visit Betty’s sister, Mrs. Nora Slagle. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Smith of Seattle arrived in Wolf Point Friday to visit old friends. They left again Tuesday. Mrs. Taliaferro returned Tues day from Boulder, Colorado, where she has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Steffenson. F. A. Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Tauge, from Mineral Bench were business and shopping visi tors in Wolf Point Monday. Margaret Bailly spent part of last week in Williston and the remainder at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bailly. Joyce Shamley arrived in Wolf Point from California last week to spend a month with her par ents. Mr. and Mrs. Todd Shamley. Earl Conver of the Moe Motor Company, went to Glasgow to enter the Deaconess hospital for nose treatments under Dr. Knier im. Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Dougherty and Mr. Dougherty’s sister, An gela and Margaret, drove to Fort Peck and Glasgow Sunday after noon. A dinner was served at the Sty er home Thursday evening, Sept 19, to a group of friends ana relatives in honor of Gilles Styer’s twenty-first birthday. • Mr. and Mrs. Martin Foss re turned Monday from a vacation in North Dakota and Minnesota where they have been visiting relatives for the past week. W. F. Handran of Scobey trans acted business In Wolf Point last Wednesday. Alfred Hanson of Bainville was a business visitor in Wolf Point last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Wilber White of Mora, Minnesota, after attending Clarence Hllger’s funeral in Glen dive Sunday, arrived in Wolf Point Monday to visit Mrs. E. B. Styer. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Poier and daughter of Snohomish, Wash., and Mrs. McClain arrived Wed nesday to visit Ada and Mayme Jacobi. On Sunday, they all drove to Hinsdale. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Whitham of Wolf Point were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Ferrin of Glasgow, Sunday. Mr. Ferrin is wire chief for the tele phone company In Glasgow. Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Appelgren and children left Colorado Springs Friday morning. After spending Friday night in Buffalo, Wyo., they again resumed their jour ney, arriving in Wolf Point Sat urday night. The baby daughter is doing very well. Ben Walters of ixalispell re turned to Wolf, Point last Friday to wind up his business affairs In this section. He stated that Mrs. Walters is now out of the hos pital and recovering from her re cent illness. Lucille Johnson Wed at Pontiac, Michigan On September 11th The marriage of Miss Lucille Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Johnson of Wolf Point was Holemnized at 7:30 p.m. Sep tember 11, at the Orchard Lake Presbyterian church, at Pontiac, Michigan. The candlelight cere mony was read by the Reverend Barney Roepcke before a back ground of white gladioli and baby chrysanthemums. For her wedding attire, the bride chose a street length dress of rose wool and a corsage of white gardenias. Her maid of honor, Reta Allen, wore a blue suit with a corsage of pink rosebuds. John Allen served as best man and John Finlayson, of Sylvan Village, gave the bride in marriage. A reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Cro mis of Crescent Lake, immediately after which the newlyweds left for a honeymoon trip to northern Michigan. On their return, they will* re side at 545 Telegraph Road, Pon tiac, Michigan. Wolf Point young people who left the past week to enter Con cordia College at Moorhead, Minn., included Lila Nygaard, Marilyn Miller, Helen Gess, Loren Johnson, Clifford Isachsen, Bar bara Jarrell and the Knutsvig twins. Rev. and Mrs. R. A. Normann and daughters went to Great Falls last week for a few’ days. Rev. Normann attended a meeting in the capacity of finance chairman of the Circuit. Mrs. Harold Knauts and Floyd Durfey of Richey visited Mrs. Durfey and her new daughter Monday evening at the Trinity hospital in Wolf Point Joe Shevlin, v^ho has been visit ing his uncle, Father Shevlin, of Wolf Point left for his home in Chicago Wednesday morning. Rex Kibbe of Poplar transacted business in Glasgow Tuesday and visited friends in Wolf Point in the evening. Mrs. Eschenbacker and Mrs. Ixjuise Scorick of Bainville were business visitors in Wolf Point last week. Shopping visitors in Wolf Point Tuesday were Mrs. Floyd Archi quejtep and Mrs. Ben Nordwick of Poplar: Barbara Greenwood left the past week end to return to her duties as a student at the university at Missoula. Carl Moe arrived home Satur day evening from a business trip to Billings and Great Falls. Business callers In Wolf Point Saturday were Alex Scorick and Judge Allen of Bainville. C. and Don. ; Four New Members ' Join Woman’s Club ' At Monday Meeting The Wolf Point Senior Wom an’s Club gained four new mem bers at the “guest night’’ meet ing held Monday evening, Sept. 23. at the Presbyterian church parlors, with Mrs. T. M. Wold presiding. The new membeiw were Mrs. Steve Nason, Virginia l#ainp ke, Vivian- Scofield and Mrs. El mer Bostowi. Routine business was taken up and the highlight of the business session was the vote to invito the District Chibs to Wolf Point for the 1947 convention. The guests were introduced and roll call, response to be. “A Rule of Etiquette, brought forth many worthy, long forgotten: and' much neglected manners,, some of which, seemed amusing tty present-day standards. The program was then turned over to Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Sethre, opening with a commun ity sing with Mrs;. Slaght at the piano. Several contests took place, winners being Miss Lampke in the "Trademark rdentifllcation,” Mrs. Bruggeman: for hen fashion» able clothes-pin doll and Mrs. O. C.
