Page Four Bainville Girl Wed Sunday Afternoon To Sidney Man Amelia Fredricka Norgaard, daughter of J. K. Norgaard of Bainville, and Marvin Lorenz, son Of Mrs. Sophia Lorenz of Sidney, were united in marriage at the First English Lutheran church in Bainville at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 17. The Reverend Nels Carlsen of ficiated at the double ring cere mony. Attendants were Mrs. Fred Schilling and William Kukas of Sidney. The groom’s mother wore navy blue with black accessories, with a white rose corsage. The church was decorated with autumn flowers as was the Bain ille Civic Center where the re ception was held. The reception, given by the sisters, brother and father of the bride, was attended by 75 guests. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Olson of Sid ney were the only out-of-town quests. A buffet luncheon was served with a three-tier wedding ake as a centerpiece for the .erving table. Both bride and groom are vet erans of the World War 11, Mrs. THE HERALD-NEWS — Woif Point, Roosevelt County, Montana Lorenz having spent two and a half years with’ the WAVES and the groom three years as a para trooper. In the evening after the recep tion a public dance was held and according to custom, five-dollar bills were pinned to the bride for each dance. The wedding cake was sold for over SIOO and then it was re-sold by the piece. The bride’s slipper was also sold. The bride and groom received many beauti ful gifts. After receiving the best wishes of their many friends the couple left for an extended trip to Cali fornia. Doris Ann Stevens and Evelyn Angell of Poplar visited last week end with Beverly Carpenter in Wolf Point BAINVILLE NEWS BAINVILLE WOMAN HAS LUCKY ESCAPE What could have been a very serious accident proved lucky to Mrs. Carmen Larson when she was driving home Saturday after noon. The steering gear suddenly went out of order and the car plunged across the ditch and into a telephone pole. The force of the impact broke off the pole and damaged the car, but Mrs. Larson was uninjured. BAINVILLE MAN ARRIVES IN SWEDEN Albert Nelson has arrived in Sweden after eleven rough days at sea. He reported that he was the only passenger of his group that didnt get seasick. Two of the eleven days were extremely stormy. Having found his father and friends well, he said he was enjoying a wonderful time. PAT CALDWELL BREAKS FOOT IN ACCIDENT Pat Caldwell broke his foot in an accident on a bridge. Working alone, he was dragging timbers upon the bridge. Making a mis step, he was compelled to jump from the bridge, thereby injuring his foot. Julian Barnier, who has been hospitalized for the past few months, is reported to be doing better. All Bainville hopes for his speedy recovery. Monger Berwick is visiting his mother who, it is reported, fell and broke her hip and is now in the hospital at Devils Lake, N. D. Mrs. Lilly Casey and Mrs. Mon tana Piercy of Wolf Point have been in town visiting Mrs. Mike Torgerson who injured her back. Mrs. Torgerson, who was taken to the hospital at Williston, has re turned home and is slowly re covering. Mrs. Elizabeth Owens spent the past two weeks visiting in Chica go. Her son, John P. Owens, form erly of Bainville, resides there. While there her daughter arrived for a short visit before going overseas. Katherine is in the WACs and has been at the Army Technical School in Camp Lee, Va. Mrs. Owens returned home November 17. Mrs. Alfred Mahlen is spending the next few days in Williston at the home of her son, Severt. The Home Demonstration Club will meet at the home of Mrs. C. A. Fournier, November 26, at 1:30 p.m. The lesson will be Home Freezers, given by Mrs. Betty Mc- Cromick, Agent Roll call will be “Favoriite Thanksgiving Recipe.” Louis LeFord and son arrived from Yakima, Wash., accompanied by his brother, Ted LeFord. 13. E. Barrett, rancher from south of Malta, stopped in Bain ville on his return from Sioux City, lowa, and visited his neices and families here, Mrs. A. D. Picard, Mrs. Erick Crusch, Mrs. William Harmon and Mrs. Albert Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. L. Jenson and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jenson and son left Sunday for Billings. Mrs. Jeff Aldridge, who taught the fifth and sixth grades last year, visited in Bainville on her way to join her husband in Okla homa. Little Mike Picard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Picard, was in the Mercy hospital four days last week with pneumonia. Floyd P. Brophy of Jamestown, N. Dak., who served four years in the South Pacific, visited at the Eric Crusch and Albert Nelson homes and other friends in the community over the week end. Greta Nelson had her tonsils removed at the Mercy hospital on Friday. She will be able to re turn to school soon. Mrs. Ernie Sala and Mrs. Hazel Beauchene, Mrs. Seth Lowe, Rich ard Hobby and Buzzy Simard were Williston visitors Friday. A farewell party was given by the Lutheran Indies Aid at Mrs. Chester Johnson’s on Thursday, Nov. 14, for Mrs. Pete Erhman trout. She was presented with a set of luncheon trays. It has been reported that I^awr ence Bradsho, who works for the, Montana-Dakota Power Co., is to take Pete Erhmantrout’s place here. A. D. Picard left Saturday night with four carloads of cattle for the Sioux City, lowa, market. Mrs. Albert Nelson had dental work done in Williston last Wed nesday. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Fournier took friends to the show, “'The Call of the Wild’ in Culbertson on Friday evening. Mrs. - Edna Nicholson returned to Ft. Peck to spend the winter. Cecil Crusch suffered another attack of malaria and was taken to the Mercy hospital at Willis ton. He is reported to be doing well and is expected home soon. Mrs. A. C.
