The VA pointed out, after care fully considering the wording of the law and the intent of Congress as shown in the discussion pre ceding passage of the bill, that the law specifically names not only automobiles, but "other con veyances” including equipment which will aid the veteran in achieving his occupational aims. The administrator said: "It ap pears that the act was intended to be of assistance in the case of a disabled veteran who is a farmer, where a tractor with suitable ac cessories is necessary to perform labors which he might formerly have been ahle to manage afoot with a horse and hand-operated equipment, and to permit him to manage afoot with a horse and hand-operated equipment, and to permit him to offset the decrease in speed and ability normally re sulting from an amputation and compete successfully, financially and otherwise, with able-bodied individuals in the business.’’ * ♦ ♦ ♦ QUESTION OF THE WEEK Q.
