lack of height last year is not
apparent with four men over
six foot and several other men
close to the six foot mark.
Mainstays of the '49-50 team will
probably be Don, John and poss
ibly Ivan Bushman; Ray and Don
Wolf, Bob Stephens, Jack Marron.
Leo McLachlan, Darrel Beecher,
and Herman Shumway. Dale Mc-
Dermott fills the role of a very
capable and experienced manager.
Another rookie with the Ghosts
and from the Dapper Dans, one of
Fisher’s farm clubs, is Sam Sharpe,
over six foot and who tips the beam
at 195 pounds. He plays the pivot
post and cand do anything with the

of experience traveling with other
name clubs and is a decided asset
to this season’s edition of the Sioux
City court clowns.
As usual, the game will be a mix
tiire of basketball mayhem and
outstanding skill on the part of the
Ghosts. In Wolf Point last year, the
team drew a record crowd of ex
cited basketball fans who never
knew what to expect from the local
or visiting team.
As this is the first appearance of
the Independents, a large crowd of
Wolf I’oint boosters is expected to
turn out. Up against the roughest
type of competition, the local boys
will have opportunity to display
ther ability and to show fans what
to expect as the basketball season
rolls along. Any first-season rough
edges should be shaved off by the
fast-action Ghosts.

Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Dillon re

stopped over in Billings on the re
turn trip.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Fromdah! and
Roger, and Mr. and Mrs. Severt
Fromdahl spent one night on the
shore at Bear Creek —a pretty chilly
night too, which necessitated a
camp fire, to keep warm. They de
cided to have supper before going
home, and the rest .of the crowd
left. When they decided to go it
was impossible to start their car.
Robert, at home, next morning,
was worried, when they didn’t re
turn, so started out to search. He
found them hungry and cold on
the shore of Bear creek, and after
pulling the stubborn car around
they succeeded in getting it started
for home.
