MEYERS HELD TUESDAY • \ HAD BEEN RESIDENT OF WOLF POINT SINCE 1926; DIED ON NOVEMBER 12 AT GREAT FALLS/" Funeral services were held Nov ember 15 for Joseph S. Meyers at the Assembly of God church, with the Rev. Claude L. Myers officiat ing. J. S. Myers was born March 16, 1865 at Memphis, Missouri, and । died Saturday, November 12 at the ' age of 84 years at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nannie Good in | Great Falls* Mr. Myers was married in Mem i nhis in 1887. In the fall of 1902, 1 he moved to Leeds, N. D. and from there to Tioga, N. D., where he I homesteaded until 1926. From then until 1948 when his wife died, Mr. j Myers lived in Wolf Point. He then moved to Great Falls to live with his daughter. In addition to Mrs. Good, sur vivors are another daughter, Mrs. । Bessie F. Flynn, Oregon; a broth er, Alfred S. Myers, Memphis; 11 grandchildren. £1 great grandchil 'ren an<l several neices and neph ews. Pallbearers for the service in el tided A. B. Horsford, Russel) Harmon, Al Holderman, Ersie Fen ton. L. A. Vebeck tX the pastorate of the First Pres knyterian Church of Wolf Point were Arthur G. Adams of Billings, Mod erator of the Presbytery of Yellow stone, presiding, the Rev. Robert H. Moody of Conrad, stated clerk of . the Presbytery of Great Falls and the Rev. Everett O. Pearson, pas tor of the First Presbyterian church of Poplar. Other ministres attending but having any part in the ceremony were Rev. Dieche of Fairview and Rev. Schermerhorn of Sidney. Mrs. C. lx Shipman was organist, Mrs. Harold Arndt oloist and Mr. Shipman was master of ceremonies at the reception following the in stallation. The ladies of the Young Women’s giuld served lunch. STORK SHOWER HONORS MRS. JIMMY ECCLES Mrs. Fredlrick Dalton and Mrs. Arne Salkeim were co-hostesses at a pink and blue shower at the Dal ton home Monday evening in honor of Mrs. Jimmy Eccles. The Senior Woman's club annual Montana Products dinner was held Monday evening at the Presbyterian church parlors, with ladles of the church aid serving the dinner. A business meeting of the club was held following. \ The menu, composed entirely of Montana products, was as follows baked ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, buttered peas, rolls, Jelly, pickles, cabbage salad, raw vege table plate. Ice cream, wafers and coffee. The tables were decorated In the autumn motif with leaves and berries sent by Mrs. Mitchell who Is on a trip to thewest. Degree of Honor Compliments State Officer Berndt An informal card party was held at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Rut zlaff Wednesday evening honoring their state president, Mrs. Frances Berndt of Wolf Point. It was at tended by a large number of the officers and members of the Wolf Point Degree of Honor Lodge. Trump whist was the entertainment for the evening. Decorations in the Thanksgiving theme were carried out in the room and lunch. Assistant hostesses were Mrs. Charles Nail and Mrs. Reuben Smith. The group presented Mrs. Berndt with a purse of silver and special honors were paid to their disting uished leader. Legion Auxiliary Meets Thursday At Greenwoods Regular meeting of the Tx'gion Auxiliary will be. held tonight at the home of Mrs. J. A.-Greenwood. Another parcel or two will be packed for Holland. The Einar Lunds 32nd Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Einar Lund cele brated their wedding anniversary by holding an Impromptu open house Saturday, November 12 at their home In Wolf Point. Their children presented them with a large decorated wedding cake and cut flowers, a gift from the “groom" to his bride of 32 years, graced the serving table. A large group of neighbors and friends dropped in to greet them during the afternoon and evening. STEBBINS RETURN FROM TRIP EAST Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stebbins re turned recently from a 6.000 mile trip to the east coast with many stops of interest enroute. Visits with relatives in Detiolt, Hartford. Connecticut and visits in Boston and Plymouth, Mass., covered the northern route. They enjoyed a visit to New York City, where they took in many points of interest witli Mrs. Stebbin's neice, who is stewardess on the airline between New York anil Long Beach, Cal ifornia, acting as their city guide. From New York they went to Baltimore where they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Allison, (nee Doroty Burgess) with a side trip to Washington. I). They visited their son Charles and family in Chicago, thereby making the acquaintance of 6 weeks old Sally Dyce Arrivee, their grand daughter, “Chuck” is now assistant mechanical l-nghie’er of the west Pullman' plant of the International Harvester Co., having received a substantial promotion. They went to Cedar Rapids, lown, wliere they visited Mrs. Arrivee’s mother, aunt and other relatives and on. the return trip visited Mr. Arrivee’s brother in Minneapolis. HONORED AT STORK SHOWER Mrs. Henry Lowe assisted by Mrs. Ronnie Molzhon were hostess es at a baby shower for Mrs. Peter Dethman of Brockton Friday, No vember 4 at the L»we home. A large number of her Wolf Point friends were present to shower her with gifts. The evening was spent in cards and visiting and the hostesses .served refreshments. Mr. and Mrs. Dethman ami daughter Susan, former Wolf Point residents, plan to leave soon for Spokane and the west coast. They will visit Mrs. Dethman’s parents in THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 1949 Spokane and with other relatives and friends along the line.
