Jim Walking Eagle of the River side Community died Friday, June 22nd. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver M. Lien left by car Thursday for a short time in Helena. Mr. and Mrs. John Kemp of Wolf Point were business callers in town Saturday. Mrs. Nels Olson of Flaxville and Kenneth spent several days visiting friends in town. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Carson of Wolf Point spent the week-end here at her father's home. Vencill Elgie of Kenmare, North Dakota was a recent visitor in town. He was enroute to Oregon Mrs. Ben Holte and Marlis and Mrs. Bud Lien visited friends in Wolf Point on Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kaschube of the north community were busi ness callers in Williston Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Nygard and children returned Tuesday from a ten-day vacation trip to Henning, Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Smith of the southside returned last week from a trip to South Dakota and Minnesota. The Brockton Woman’s Club is holding a Fourth of July dance at the school gymnasium. Come on and have some fun! William Murray returned Wed nesday from a couple weeks’ va cation trip to Minneapolis and Davenport, lowa. Mrs. Robert Mattelin and daugh ters Linda and Marion are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Loffel, at Musselshell. Mr. and Mrs. George Shanks and boys were Wednesday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hank Dethman in the north community. Mrs. Carl Larsen left Saturday to return to her home in Dodson, after spending several weeks at the Otto Schulz home. C. J. Samuelson, Harriet and Carol and Mrs. Jennie Elgie drove to Poplar to hear the Augustana Quartet last Monday evening. Loyd W. and Ted Johnson re turned Tuesday from a fishing trip to Kalispell. They also visited their brother Clinton, and family there. Mrs. Joe Appelhans and daugh ter Christine returned the latter part of the week after spending a week or so visiting relatives at Dobson. Mr. and Mrs. Merland Iverson and Harriet and Carol Samuelson drove to Wolf Point last week to hear the Concordia Quartet from Moorhead, Minn. Kenneth Welch left Thursday I morning for a day's visit in Miss oula and then to Helena, where he plans to enroll at Carroll Col lege for the summer quarter. Orrie Woods, State Highway Patrolman, and Bruce Randall of the State Highway Dept., Wolf Point, were in town on Wednesday investigating the car accident east of town. Discuss ion at the meeting concerned oil leasing, etc. Ben Holte returned Friday after noon from the fishing trip to Can ada. He reported fishing was very crowded up there, but the party returned with a nice assortment of fish. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Yoder of the Anderson Community were shoppers in town Thursday. Also in from that community were Mr. and Mrs. Henning Dahlberg and son Irvin. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Thumm. Sr. and (kne left Saturday for a vis it at Pierce. Idaho, with Mr. and Mrs. Clenard Holly and family and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Evenwo and family. Mrs. L. W. Kuehnle of the And erson Community entertained a group of children and several ad ults at a lawn party at her home last week. About fifteen to twenty people were present to enjoy the social afternoon and picnic. PFC Kenneth Olson is now en joying a long furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nels Olson of Flaxville, and relatives and friends here and in Poplar. Kenny has been stationed with the army in Germany for the last couple years. Mrs. Frank Mattelin entertained at a coffee party on Friday after noon at her ranch home east of Brockton. Those present were Mrs. Nels Olson of Flaxville, Mrs. Louis Nelson, Mrs. Milo Stangeland, Mrs. Carl Dahlberg, Mrs. Ole Lien and the hostess. The Brockton Woman's Club is cooperating with the Poplar Wo man’s Club and Poplar VFW in sponsoring the Bloodmobile Unit to be in Poplar on July 25th.
