Page Six Wolf Point Local and Social News Evelyn Helen Schillinger Marries Harvey Neufeld In a double-ring ceremony con 'ducted by Rev. Valerian V. Bezdi • cek at St. Ann’s Church in Vida Tuesday afternoon. Evelyn Helen Schillinger. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Schillinger, Vida, became the bride of Harvey J. Neufeld, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Neufeld of Wolf Point. Altar of the church was de corated with baskets of white gladioli and small bouquets of pink carnations. Wedding music was provided by Mrs. William Reichert, cousin of the bride, at the organ, and Kenneth Schillinger, the bride’s brother, who sang "Ave Maria”. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a tradi tional white wedding gown with a nylon net skirt trimmed in lace, a nylon lace bodice and fingertip veil of illusion. She wore nylon net mitts and a string of pearls, a gift of the groom. Her colonial bouquet held white roses and step hanotis. The matron of honor. Mrs. Leon ard Loendorf, sister of the bride. | was attired in an orchid gown of i nylon net over taffeta with a nylon lace bodice, matching mitts and headdress. She carried a bouquet of yellow ros^s and carnations. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Roger Johnson and Mrs. Loran Casey. They wore identical gowns of nile green nylon net over taffeta and nylon lace bodices with mitts and headdress to match. The brides maids carried bouquets of pink roses and carnations. Loran Casey was best man. Ush «ers were Roger Johnson and Doug las Young. For her daughter’s wedding. Mrs. Schillinger chose a navy nylon net dress with navy and light blue accessories. Mrs. Neufeld wore a navy net dress with white acces sories. Both mothers had corsages of white roses. Mrs. J. C. Moses was in charge of a reception held in the Wolf Point Elks building after the cere mony. Mrs. Burle Nygaard and Dorothy Kluth poured coffee. Mrs. Jack Roberts served punch, while Mrs. R. W. Sorenson and Mrs. . Moses cut the wedding cake. At the reception. Norman Dahl, Com mander of the local unit announced recently. Funds will be raised thru the sale of Magazine Subscriptions. Representatives working in the area will be headed by Vorden Holliday of Billings. Holliday is working in this area for the Third consecutive year. The success of these drives in the past two years has enabled us to purchase Portable Oxygen Tents for Wolf Point and Malta, and an Emergency Iron Lung for Glasgow. Because other magazine salesmen are working in the state at the present time, residents should ask the representative to show a letter signed by Norman Dahl and other commanders of each area. Scobey. Opheim. Olson of Williston, became the bride of Sgt. Edwin Duane Diedrich, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Diedrich of Wolf Point in a double wedding conducted by Rev. Ray McClube at the First Methodist Church in Williston Sat urday evening. June 7. Also mar ried were Patricia V. Handrum, daughter of Mrs. Zella Handrum of Williston and Elvin W. Olson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed C. Olson. Wil liston. The brides were attired in gowns of ivory slipper satin fashioned with double Peter Pan collars, long pointed sleevees and full court trains. Their fingertip veils of ill usion fell from crowns of seed pearls and rhinestones. They car ried sheath bouquets of red roses and net Marian Olson attended her sis ter as maid of honor. She wore a ballerina-length gown of nile green taffeta and net. with matching headband and white gloves. The bridesmaid. Joyce Hu we. wore an identical gown. Both attendants wore ' pearl earrings, gifts of the bride, carrying colonial bouquets of yellow roses and Esther Reed dais ies. As flower girl. Maxine Olson, sister of the bride, wore a ballerina length gown of nile green taffeta with net overskirt, a matching headband and white gloves. She also wore a pearl necklace and bracelet, gift from the bride, carry ing a basket of rose petals. Those present, in addi tion to the honor guest and hos tesses. were: Mrs. Roger Johnson. Mrs. Douglas Young. Mrs. Jack Roberts. Mrs. Burle Nygaard and Mrs. Loran Casey. The bride-to-be received a gift of crystal from the group. Floyd Johnson of Wolf Point at tended Sgt. Diedrich as best man. Elroy Sundby was usher. Mrs. Olson wore a pale blue print jersey dress with white ac cessories and a corsage of pink roses. For her son’s wedding. Mrs. Diedrich chose a medium blue suit with red accessories and a corsage of Hoover roses. Following the ceremony, a lunch eon reception was held in the church parlors’ served by the WSCS. Two four-tiered wedding cakes decorated the table. A graduate of the Williston High School. Mrs. Diedrich has been em ployed in a Williston store. Sgt. Diedrich attended Wolf Point schools and received his equival ency diploma while serving in the U. S. Army. Of 18 months overseas, he has served 13 months in Korea. They will reside at Fort Lewis. Washington. For their wedding trip to Cali fornia. Mrs. Diedrich chose a blug and white print dress with white accessories and a corsage of rcmes. Ralph Okland in the First Lutheran Church at Wolf Point Friday evening. June 13. About 150 rela tives and friends attended the serv ice. Lor raine Ersland and Betty Long, wore Bill Hentges of Frazer. Montana spent Monday visiting his family in Wolf Point. Mrs. Walter Wiers returned home Monday from Butte, where she spent the weekend. Texas, arrived in Wolf Point Monday to spend a Mrs. Jacobson Chosen Auxiliary President Monday Mrs. Melvin Jacobson was elect ed president of the Wolf Point chapter of the American Legion Auxiliary at the last spring meet ing held Monday evening. Other new officers are: Mrs. A. D. Forsness. first vice president; Mrs. Cleve Davis, second vice presi dent and Mrs. Eva Mae Smith, secretary-treasurer. Discussions at the meeting concerned the con stitution and coming convention. Joanne Opgrande will report upon Girls’ State at the first Auxi liary meeting next fall. Mrs. Lee Marries George Bartch at Glasgow Saturday A wedding of local interest took place at the Methodist Church in Glasgow Saturday morning when Mrs. Josephine Lee of Dil lon and George Bartch of Frazer were united in marriage. Rev. Grant S. Moore conducted the double-ring ceremony. Witnesses were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Huber of Glasgow. Mr. Bartch is a prominent rancher of the Frazer vicinity. Mrs. Bartch recently finished teaching two terms at the Turner School. Mrs. Moe Attends National Convention Of Church Group: Mrs. Carl Moe returned Sunday | morning from Minneapolis where she attended the National Conven : tion of the Women’s Missionary Federation of the ELC. as a dele gate of the First Lutheran Church. Wolf Point. On the way home, she visited the L. S. Evenson family, at Park Rapids. Minnesota, former residents of Wolf Point. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Montgomery and granddaughter Loy Rae are leaving Friday morning for an Insurance Convention in California. They will be gone about ten days. Mr and Mrs. George Loucks re turned Monday from the VFW con vention held in Helena four days last week. Mr. Loucks was delegate of the local chapter. They were accom panied back to San Francisco by their sister, Kathleen. CWO and Mrs. John Tosney and son arrived Wednesday from Tokya, Japan for a visit with Mrs. Tosney’s mother, Mrs. John Cof fey of Wolf Point.
