FROID FACULTY ENJOY ANNUAL YULE PARTY The Froid school faculty, jani tor, and cooks, and their husband? and wives had their annual Christ mas party in the Home Ec. roort Wednesday evening. The evening was spent socially with lunch being served by the teachers, followed by the exchanging of gifts. The Congregational Sunday school presented their Christmas program Wednesday night. After the program treats were passed out to everyone present. Thursday. De cember 18. Jaundice Calls Off Froid Game The Froid vs Savage basketball game, which was to be held Fri day evening, wds postponed. More than 20 cases of yellow jaundice have been reported in Savage, and they were forced to close the school. The Froid Cardinals were defeat ed by the Popiur'lndians on their floor December 12. The game open ed with the Indians taking a quick 20-10 first quarter lead. The Cards picked up a little in the second stanza but they still trailed 21-23 ' at half time. The fast Poplar quint \ poured in 22 baskets in the third 1 period to increase their lead to , 50-33. I Final score was 64-53. — FROID COUPLE MARRIED IN CALIFORNIA , Mrs. Jack Wulf left Tuesday for San Diego, Calif., to attend the wedding of her son. Gordon, who is in the navy and stationed there, and Lu Ann Mittman. Lu Ann has attended school in both Froid and Poplar. The wedding was December 19. The Froid Women's club held their annual Christmas party at the Oscar Svendsen home Tuesday evening. Tea for Mothers The Home Ee. and Future Home makers of America gave their an nual Mother’s tea Wednesday af ternoon in the Home Economics room. Back to School lola Westberg and Norma Jean Mogen returned from Havre where they are attending Northern Mon tana college Friday morning. Greg Wallender and Clarence Hekkel re turned from Missoula Thursday evening. They are going to school at Montana State university. Also. Eugene Olson and Jim Grovom got home from Montana State college at Bozeman. Mr. and Mrs. Dallas McNiel and family left Thursday morning for Kent. Wash., to spend the Christ mas holidays with Mrs. McNiel's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Bahn, former Froid residents. Pfc. Ronald Hippe returned to Camp San Luis Obispo, Calif., Mon day after spending a fourteen day furlough at home. Mrs. Tom Ryerson. Mrs. Buck Ryder, and Mrs. Susan French of Medicine Lake were shopping in Williston Tuesday. WOLVES SCORE 64-55 VICTORY OVER POPLAR In a typical Wolf Point-Poplar game, the Wolves wound up the 1952 portion of this season's sched ule by downing the Indians on the Wolf Point floor 64-55 Monday. The B squad made it unanimous for Wolf Point, winning over Pop lar's B team 49-35. Both teams showed flashes of good basketball, bul neither was consistent. The, locals dominated the backboards. Clark and Delger doing especially fine work. On de fense, the Wolves had their worst game to date as the Poplar boys netted 55 points. It was the first time that an opponent reached the fifties in the six games played thus far. At the quarter Wolf Point led 18-9; at the half 34-24; at the third quarter 48-42. The visitors display ed some second half sharpshooting that constantly threatened Wolf Point's lead. Following the loss at Chinook, the Wolves resumed their winning ways in Malta Satur day, dropping the Mustangs 69-42 The B squad came through in both preliminaries, shading the Beeters' B team 33-32 and trimming Malta's B team 55-41. At Malta, the Mustangs led tor the greater part of the first quarter. Wolves finally went into a 14-11 lead at the quarter. At the half Wolf Point was in front 33-17 With all the A squad seeing action, the Wolves kept rolling in the sec ond half, hitting 36 points to 25 for Malta. Wolf Point made 28 of 61 shots for 45.9 per cent average; Malta made 18 of 37 tries for 48.6 per cent. Wolf Point made 13 of 29 free throw attempts; Malta made 18 of 36.
