Page Eight News fromßichey HOFFMANS HONORED AT LINEN SHOWER TUESDAY EVENING Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hoffman were honored at a linen shower Tuesday evening at the parlors of the Christian Alliance and Mis sionary church. About seventy five guests were present. An impromptu program was given by some of the guests, in cluding several duets by Mrs. An derson and Vivian Swanson. Em ma Wing and Ann Carlson, and Mr. and*Mrs Harold Hoffman. The program opened by scripture and prayer led by the Rev. Anderson of Bloomfield, followed by two poems read by Mrs. Anderson and Carl Carlson. Group singing was enjoyed and remarks by Saxton Cummings. John Johnston and William Wills. Hostesses for the occasion were Mr. William Wills. Mrs. Dale Wa ters and Mrs. Pete Carlson. FAMILY FELLOWSHIP AT RICHEY CHURCH HEARS PROGRAM Family Fellowship night, spon sored by the Young People's League, was well attended Thurs day at the Lutheran church. The program opened with a skit "Voices Of The Passion" by the Luther league members and the Rev. Schmidt after which two i short mpvie films were shown. “Blind Beggar of Jerusalem" and 1 "Travelogue of London." Lunch was served after the . program. Newell Beery of the Vida and Richey community shipped a load of cattle Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Klempel and family were entertained at Sunday dinner in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Miller. On Monday evening the third and fourth graders honored their teacher. Mrs. James Copas, with a surprise birthday party at the school house. They presented her with a gift and served refresh ments. SUTHERLAND TO BE DELEGATES RICHEY — The faculty of the Richey high school have selected the two boys who will attend Boy’s State on the campus of Western College of Education in August The delegates are;Billy Canfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Can field, and Donald Sutherland, son of Mrs. Dan Kuester. Alternates for these delegates are Leslie Sampson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sampson, and Orville Unruh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Unruh, respectively. These bovs are all members of the Junior class and arc sponsor ed by the American Legion with the cooperation of the local VFW post. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wienkc and Judy Wienke and Mrs. Vernon Culver were Glendive shoppers on Thursday Judy consulted her dentist. Mr. and Mrs. Verne Stoker en tertained at Sunday dinner. Cov ers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Everelt Fatzinger and children and Mr and Mrs. Alfred Kauffman and children. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wandke and family of Great Falls spent the weekend with Mrs. Wandke’s parents, <Mr and Mrs. Leon Cum mings Mis. Maurice Schmidt, who was a patient in the Northern Pacific hospital for a few days, returned home on Tuesday of last week. Mrs. Veril Jensen entertained at a handkerchief shower on Fri day evening at her home as a fare well gesture for Mrs. Ron Gilly who is leaving soon. Bernard Soft, who received med ical aid, in a hospital in Billings, returned home the latter part of last week. Mrs. Soft returned home on Tuesday. Sunday dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Grab er were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Graber and son. Erwin, all of Glendive. Mr. and Mrs Lawrence Jensen drove tn Minot Thursday by truck and returned home bn Friday with a loafd of farm machinery. Irwan Sheck transacted busi ness in Bi’lings the first part of last week. He also visited his mother while there and »was ac companied h(-mc by his sister, Dorothy Shock, who will visit here for a few davs. The new station agent, P. H. Simchaw. arrived here last week and will send for his family from Glentana as soon as he finds liv ing quarters for them. The relief agent. Frank Robirison. has gone to Culbertson. Mrs A. C. Williams returned from the hospital at Miles City on Monday, where she has been a patient for six days, suffering with an infected ear. a Ardcllo Stzobol and Lyla Morey celebrated their twelfth biithdays on Wednesday evening with’ a party in the home of the former’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Strobel. Games were enjoyed and a nice lunch was served. Mrs^ George Goulding is in the Williston hospital receiving a med ical checkup. She is expected to return home the first of the week. The mothers of the grade school pupils of the South Valiev school ; surprised their teacher, Mrs. Charles Miller, with a birthday party after school on Thursday afternoon, at the teacherage.
