Page Two Wolf Point Local and Social Items Degree of Honor Annual Banquet Draws 53 Members The Degree of Honor Protective Association, Lodge No. 58. held their Annual Banquet on Wednes day, March 16 in the Presbyterian church * parlors with fifty-three members. Pretent Mrs. Walter Wiers who was in charge of the entertainment and inspection had used a Western Story Book Theme. Part of the entertainment was supplied by David Arndt who played piano and hafmonica selections. National and State officers Mrs Anna Wooley and Mrs. Edna Quehn respectively, were present. Also present were fourteen members from the Glasgow Lodge No. 81 with Mis. Dorothy Bartch. presi dent and is a daughter of Mrs. E Quehn. Five new members were accept ed into’tthe Lodge through Initia tion and transfer. Following the entertainment coffee and cookies were served. The local Degree of Honor is sponsoring the American Red Cross for this community with Mrs. Jerry Jensen as City Chair man. Women’s Civic Club Votes Financial Aid For Polio Vaccine Members of the Women's Civic Club have voted to finance the expense' of serum and needles for the Salk polio inoculations for first and second grade children scheduled this spring. The project was approved at the regular meeting held Monday. March 21 at the home of Vivian Nees with Dorothy Kurokawa as sisting. A committee was appointed to contact the city officials and de termine what type of landscaping could be done at the swimming pool. A donation was received from the American Legion Auxiliary for the Skating Rink and members ex pressed-their appreciation. Birthday Honored Gay Lynn Scourey was feted with a party on her eleventh birthday anniversary last Wednes day following school. The guests enjoyed playinig games in-and outdoors. Gay Lynn received many nice gifts. Mrs. Ben Youngkin, her grandmother and Mona Scourey, her sister served a delicious lunch. Guests present were Betty Karge, Judy Pickthorn. March 19. in the Farmers Union Hall. Mrs. Anna Wooley, Nation al President, was present to see six new members initiated. There were fifteen mothers as guests and twenty-nine children present. Mrs. Ray Kelberer. Junior Director, served lunch following initiation. A social time was enjoyed by the children playing games. Eleventh Birthday Johnny Parkhurst was feted on his eleventh birthday anniversary last Friday afternoon with a party. The guests enjoyed playing games and birthday cake and ice cream were served. Johnny received many nice gifts. Guests were Larry Schieving. Ben Butzlaff. Larry- Legare, Gary Rosinger. Jim Otrem ba and his sister Beverly Park hurst. New Candidates of Catholic Daughter Initiated Sunday At the Catholic Daughter Ini tiation held Sunday in the Parish Hall, the following new candidates were initiated: Mrs Sarah Beauch man. Mrs. Leßoy Cody, Mrs. Leo Cody, and Mrs. Robert Birkland. These ladies received communion in a body at the 8 o'clock Mass followed by a no-host breakfast served in the Parish Hall. Third Birthday Mrs. Douglas Mahlum entertain ed at a party honoring her daughter Joann on her third birthday anni versary on Friday. A Walt Disney Theme was carried out with home movies shown. Daughter Born Word has been received that a daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hartman. Miles City on March 16 weighed 6 lbs. 2 oz. and has been named Diane Elizabeth. Mrs. Hartman is the former Vir ginia Shumway. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shumway. Sr. now have thirty grandchildren and one great-grandson. Parents of Son Word has been received that a son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Forsness in Augusta. Geor gia. on March 17 weighing seven pounds. 15 ounces. He has been named Layne Arthur. Dewey is with the Army in Augusta and has qualified to be an instructor in radio work. Dutch Lunch ' Mrs. Russell Ahlberg entertained at a Dutch Lunch and refresh ments honoring Lud Ahlberg in his new apartment at 500 Blaine. Whist was played throughout the evening. Guests were Charlie Howe. Alfie Hickel. Louis Legare, James Daly, James E. Gallagher, William J. Johnson and Russell Ahlberg. Bridge Luncheon Mrs. Don Nelson and Mrs. Nor man Hauge entertained at a bridge dessert luncheon in the Don Nel- I son residence last Friday evening. Five tables of bridge were in play. Prizes for high, low, and traveling were won by Mrs Baxter Larson, Mrs. H. J. Borgrf and Mrs. Paul Kamp, respectively. A St. Patr.ck's Day Theme was carried out. Mr. and Mrs. John Greenwood. Connie DeWitt. Sue Randall and Margaret Heser attended the An nual District Soil Conservation Dinner held at the Armory in Cul bertson on Tuesday evening of this week.
