Page Four News from Richey Trumpet Trio Wins Superior Rating At Music Festival Richey High School rated highly at the annual music festival held in Glendive on April 22 and 23. The ra’ings received during the two days were: Trumpet trio. Or ris Eggum, Leslie Swanson and Bar bara Wirth, who played Buglers Holiday, received superior rating; The Band and chorus and the Trom bone Duet. Three Cadets, presented by Marjorie Wirth and Deanna Jarmuth received an Excellent rat ing. •• Two Clarinet duets, one by De loris Nelson and Mrailyn White man who played. Workers Conference at Fair view on Tuesday. BITTERROOT REBEKAH LODGE ELECTS ASSEMBLY DELEGATES The regular meeting of the Bit terroot Rebekah Lodge No. 110 was held Thursday evening at the NATIONAL EDITORIAL 1.0.0. F hall with N. G. Minnie Kuester presiding. There were 26 members present. Anna Wuertz presented her delegates report on the District meeting held at Rose bud. Norma Waller received the degree of the Order. Miss Jean Butterfield was elected delegate to the state Assembly at Bozeman in June and Blanch Morey as Alternate. Lunch was served by Minnie Kuester and Faye Richey. METHODIST CHURCH-TO OBSERVE MOTHER’S DAY “Mother's Day” will be observed in the Methodist Church May 8 at the 11:00 am. service. Rev. H. C. Mecklenburg will speak on the subject, “Mother, Now and Forty Nine Years Ago.” Women of the “Auxiliary” and the “Theta Roe” girls who will at tend the service in a body will be welcomed. Honored at Dinner Pvt. Ernie Kemmis was an hon ored guest at a dinner Sunday given in the Dewey Whiteman home. Those who enjoyed the din ner beside the honor guest were Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Whiteman and children, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Juester and children, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Gibson and children, Mr. and Mrs. Orra Kemmis and child ren, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Richey and children. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Levengood and Sharon, Lilburn Bahls, Lon Brest, Marlo Eggum, Russell Brest and Robert Egge brecht Jr. Games were enjoyed during the afternoon. Ernie Kem mis will return to his Base on Wednesday. Rites Held May 5 Mr. and Mrs. William Graber of Glendive visited at the home of the former’s mother Mrs. J. P. Graber on Sunday. The Grabers reported that Mrs. Anna Senner had passed away on Sunday morn ing at a Monroe, Wash., hospital. Funeral services were held at the Bethlehem Mennonite Church near Bloomfield, Thursday afternoon. May 5. Mrs. Senner is the mother of Mrs. William Graber and had made her home the past winter with the Grabers in Gicndivie. Just recently they had taken her to Monroe to visit relatives Leave for East The Rev. and Mrs. Telford Swan son left on Monday morning to attend a Annual Council of the Christian Alliance and Missionary Church at Philadelphia. They ex pect to be gone for several weeks. Various ministers will occupy the pulpit of the local Christian Al liance and Missionary church dur ing Swanson’s absence. Fourth Birthday Mrs. Delmar Senner entertained 21 small frys at a party Monday af ternoon in honor of her daughter Therisa's fourth birthday. The evening was spent socially and re freshments were served by the guests. Home from Hospital Mr. and Mrs. Herb Johnson re turned from Minneapolis, Minn., Friday. Mr. Johnson has been a pa tient in the Veteran's hospital at Fort Snelling, through the winter months, and underwent a heart op eration. Mr. Alton Jarmuth returned from Minneapolis where he attended a Federal Reserve Band Meeting. While in Minneapolis Jarmuth al so visited his daughter Beverly who is attending the University. Miss Verna Waters returned to Havre to resume her studies at the College, after a two week “time out” for an appendectomy. Miss Waters spent the past week at home in Richey convalescing. Mr. and Mrs. Don Lear and children drove to Sidney Sunday where they were dinner guests of Mrs. Lear's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Provost. Mrs. George Canfield together with three other ladies of the local Auxiliary unit of the Am erican Legion, namely, Mrs. Au gust Scheer, district music chair man, Mrs. Ralph Graber, local vice president, and Mrs. Wilbur Gibson attended the District 10 meeting held at Terry on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Mickelson drove to Fallon where they were weekend visitors of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Myrl Mickelson and family. Mrs. William Fatzinger, Mrs. Jerome Graber, Mrs. Lloyd Sutton Jr., Mrs. A. A. Zody, Mrs. A. J. Unruh entertained at a pink and blue shower for Mrs. Pearce Fat- zinger at the Lloyd Sutton Sr., home on Wednesday afternoon. John Blair of Helena, Scot Fores man Book Salesman, was a Satur day overnight guest of his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Blair. George Porter spent a couple days in the Sidney Memorial hos pital receiving a physical check up. Miss Linda Olson submitted to an appendectomy on Saturday aft ernoon at the Sidney Memorial hospital. Her mother, Mrs. Lars Ol son, is in Sidney with Linda. Mrs. Henry Deckert entertained a few friends of her grandson Ro ane Deckert on his 16th birthday at a party on Sunday afternoon at the Henry Deckert home. Bob Schultz and Norma Waller were weekend guests of Miss Wal ler’s sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Schultz at Lam bert. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Levengood drove to Glendive on Monday to make their acquaintance with their new great-niece, the infant daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Miller. The Young Women's Sewing Club was entertained in the home of Mrs. Vernon Scheer on Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Virel Jensen and daughter. Virlen returned home Tuesday from their winter vaca tion spen' in California. Mrs- A. E. Nelson returned Fri day evening from Billings where she had undergone major surgery.
