Clark et al. Southeast of Las Vegas is as a Surface Showing Simply Im mense. ' - I SO FAR ONLY LOCATION CUTS. Tho Claims Are Easily Worked And So Close to Railroad Facilities As To Make Them Doubly Valuable. — RAILROAD PASS CLAIM OWNERS. — Imagine a well defined lead break ing the formation, an andesyte and porphyry and as plain as the nose on a man’s face for six thousand feet in length, from twenty to sixty feet in width, well mineralized and at points giving surface values as high as 928 in copper, gold and silver, and you can behold the seeming great property of Ed. W. Clark. C. C. Ronnow, J. E. Ed dard. J. W. Wilson. J. W. Tuck. I. C. Johnson, Geo. Copeland, J B. Rond stadt and Tom Williamson about twenty-two miles southeast of Las Ve gas. It is needless to go into details for the showings on the holdings of these well-known Vegans are so Immense as to speak better for themselves than all the technique descriptions one can indulge in. The main lead —the surface indications are simply immense. The angle or line of ele vation of the country through which this great mineralized dyke cuts is such that one can stand at the south west end of it and see it along the mountain side for more than six thous and feet in which it so boldly reveals itself. The claims owned by the enumer ated locators are the Nevada Queen, Lucky Boy, Gem. Rawhide. Mammoth and Red Top, the group controlled by E. W. Clark, C. C. Ronnow, J. E. Ed dards, J. W. Wilson and I. C. Johnson. The Nevada Queen extensions. Last Chance with the Cyrus Noble and Jes se Moore as side liners are the posses sion of Tuck. Johnson. Copeland. Rondstadt and Tom Williamson The rein filling Is a spar, heavily Im pregnated with hematite Iron, carry ing In an oxidised copper and the bl products of gold and silver. So far no extensive develop ment work has been accom plished. Up to the present only lo cation cuts have been made upon the vein, but wherever this simple re quired representation has been accom plished the showings reveal such fea tures of mineral bearing properties as to Impress the great possibilities of this late discovery near Las Vegas. The location cuts on the Rawhide and ona of I. C. Johnson's claims re veal such mineral bearing features as to carry superior surface Indications ever seen by the writer and there are few that he has not seen In the west ern copper zones. It Is an old saying that the opening of a copper mine Is not a poor man’s proposition. It is true, but in this case one is Impressed that it is an ex ception, from the fact that with suf ficient grub stake the individual own ers will be able to do sufficient devel opment work to demonstrate the par tial value of their holdings In the near future. It is a great property and unless all signs fall it will be the means of en riching In a mnoetary and property sense as splendid a crowd of prospect ors as It was ever fortune’s way to benefit. Besides the main lead traversing these claims there are other well de fined leads, but smaller and not pros pected on as yet. Other nearby claim holders are Frank Brandt, Robt. Shaffer. Leo. Bolton. Robt. Deverell, James Brown. N. A. Kuhn. F. L. Reber, and J. Mc Donald. but from present showings they are not In on the cream of these mineral exhibits that the other fortu nates possess. This section is about two miles northeast of R. R. Pass, that other promising mining belt which presents its invitation so proliflcally to the raining man and investor. Claims worth having and showing good values are owned by the follow ing well-known individuals of Lincoln county. J. W. Westlake. W. R. Thom as, S. A. West. F.. B. Boggs, (’-apt. J. H Ladd. T Bortelson, Tom Lowe, B. McCaughey. Hall & Hewetson, F. L. Duncan. Richard Busteed, Roy W. My ers, Bob Dillon. Frank Querreau, W. R Cunningham, and M. A Salt Lake Jurist Intends to Get Busy. Judge Burton of Salt Ij»ke. who passed through town last week, en route to Sandy, has a smelter project on hand for the latter place which contemplates the reduction of the lead and zinc ores, so abundantly about that camp, by a new and simple process which bids fair to bring the smelters to the miners instead of the reverse as now. The Judge's Shenandoah mine, neat Sandy, is turning out to be a winner, and will help the smelter project. -o POTOSI GETTING RICHER. South Tunnel Has Another Big Body Of Ore. A new body of galena and lead car bonates has been encountered in the face of the Potosi south tunnel, from which shipments are already being made to the smelter. The discovery of this new ore body joining onto the immense bodies of zinc carbonates, some of them seventy feet in thickness, demonstrates that the lead Is holding its own in that fa mous old world beater.
