The greatest and strongest argu ment in favor of the newspaper as a medium for advertisers, is the hold a good paper gels on its readers. Through long asssociation in which the subscriber finds his paper always battling for the right, he comes to lean on it for ideas and opinions as well as the news of tli day. What a man reads in his favorite newspaper he believes, advertisements and all. Instances of consistent advertisers becoming rich through the proper use of publicity are numerous in every town and city. When a village gets beyond the thousand or two thousand limit in that stage where everybody does not know everybody else's business, the time for mer chants to advertise lias arrived. Reno has long since passed that stage and the merchant who clings to the belief that because he has been in business here for thirty years every body knows him, will wake up some morning, if he has not already done so, to find that the new man who is a rustler and believes in letting the people know who he is, where his store is and what he has to sell, to gether with the price of his goods, has crowded the old-timer to the wall. Reno is growing rapidly, and in order to get the trade of her new people as well as retain that of her old, you must use the progressive methods of publicity offered by the home newspaper.
