Pattison, who eloped with Daisy Wilson last winter and married her in Dayton, has come to grief in the southern country. Mr, Pattison and wife left here lat Feb ruary for Randsburg, Cal., and it seems that a month or two ago a couple of other women landed in that camp and both claimed Pattison for a husband. The report is that they substantiated their claims, had Pat tison arrested, proved that he com mitted bigamy when he married Miss Wilson, and that he is now serving an eight-year sentence in the pen itentiary. It is to be hoped for the sake of Miss Wilson and her parents and relatives thut there is no truth in the report, although it is more than likely there is. Miss Wilson is i an estimable young woman, and if she has been imposed upon by a scoun drel she is to be pitied rather than blamed. Times. ! Struck With an Ave. I There was serious trouble in La i moille valley Thursday night between .one of the- Streeter boys and Joe ; Haywaid. From what we have been ! able to gather, it appear that llay j ward was at the ranch of either ! Randolph or Oscar Streeter when u 'quarrel arose. Hayward had been cutting wood, but hud laid the axe down, when Streeter picked it up and struck him over the head with it. Hay ward's right eye was knocked out and laid upon his cheek. His , injuries are said to be very serious. Independent. Charles Campbell, a Iteno sheep man, was stabbed several times dur ing a saloon tow at Sierraville, Cal., a few days ago.
