Nicola Tesla believes there is enough power going to waste in the air to run all the factories, the rail road and steamship and other trans portation lines in the world. More over, Mr. Tesla declares he has found a method of utilizing this power and of transmitting it without wires to any one who desires it. The inventor says he will soon be able to run rail road trains at a rate of 100 miles an hour without half trying, and he hopes to cut down the time between New Yerk and Liverpool to about three days. He is not making pub lic any of his plans just now, but ex pects to give out a complete an nouncement before very long. We hope he will tell how steel can be made strong enough to withstand the motion. First Training. Mrs. Belle Dormer, wife of Ne vadus's ex-Secretary of State, writes an account of a prize flght in the Stnmpeder, published at Bonanza, Yukon territory, and in another col umn a poem entitled "Ashes." The Carson Appeal says: "Reporting pugilistic encounters and inditing beautiful poems all the same day seems as easy as rolling off a log to the lady who received her first jour nalistic training on the Walker Lake Bulletin. ' Reno Journnl. In Mrs. Dormer's girlhood days she was a versatile and valued con tributor to the Inyo Independent, years before the town of Hawthorne was invented. The Difference. Senator Treacle "Did you tell that reporter 1 had nothing to say?" Servant "Yes, sir." Senator Treacle "I suppose he was very much disappointed." Servant "I hardly know. He said he was aware of the fact that you never said anything, but was under the impression that you never missed an opportunity to talk." The total land area of Nevada is 10!,740 square miles, or 70,233,000 acres, of which 2,f)fi5,H47 acres, or 3.7 per cent, are included in farms.
