Inyo county, Cat., says: "George
Vornberg writes that he is about to
install a ten-ton reduction plant with
concentrators at Mountain Springs
canyon, for the Corona. Mining com
pany. Mining lias hem in progress
in a desultory way in this district for
the past ten years, mid but little has
been accomplished in the w ay of suc
cessful working. Mr. Vornbcrg will
try up to date methods of extraction
and if successful it will be the fore
runner of far more extensive plants.
He is reputed to be a thoroughly
competent mining man, and will no
doubt lie successful."
Hater Short at Vegas.
Owing to a lack of water, Los
Vegas has been given up as an end
of a division. The officers of the San
Pedro road will make a division term
inus in the vicinity of Moapa, where
there is an abundance of water for
all necessary purposes, it will be a
railroad town. This change will be a
benefit to the whole of Muddy Valley,
as it will furnish a market for their
produce near at hand. Delamar

J. F. McCambridge arrived this
morning from Tonopah, stopping over
here on a short visit to Geo. S. Nixon.
Mr. McCambridge is on his way to
his old limne in Youngstown, Ohio, to
spend a few weeks' vacation. He is
superintendent r the Boston-Tono-pah
mines at Tonopnh, Mr. Nixon
being president of the company.-

Mrs. Minnie Plummet-, the eldest
daughter of ex Governor Sadler, and
wife of Ben Plummet- of Elko county,
died Saturday afternoon at the resi
dence of her parents at Carson. Mrs.
Plum me r had been ill but a short time
and the news of her.dcath came as a
shock to her many friends. Her
funeral took place at Carson Tuesday.
