Investigations so far made show that the West has evidenced far more enterprise than the East, and the Pa cific Coast States are far ahead of the older states in utilizing their natural resources. Nature has provided suf ficient water power to practically take care of the condition of the West as it exists in reference to population and Industry at this time. Nature's supply is not as bountiful in the eas tern states and when every availa ble ounce of water has been harness ed in water power, with hydroelec tric development stimulated to its greatest possibility, a large part of the demand for power will still have to be met by the great use of coal and olL WANTS HER DIVORCE Countess Kate d'Aleria, widow of the late Senator Nixon and wife of Count dAieria, has entered a suit for divorce in the Cos Angeles courts. BOAt> IN SOUTHERN NEVADA The work on the highway along the roadbed of the Tonopah ft Las Vegas railroad is progressing in fine shape is the word brought to Tono pah by George W. Borden, assistant state highway engineer, says the Bo nanza. Mr. Borden was accompanied by Walter N. Frickstad of the U. S. bureau of roads with headquarters at Ogden; O. S. Smith of Carson, and C. C. Byer of Las Vegas. The plans of the highway department call for the completion of this road as rapid- | ly as possible. The road when com pleted will rank as one of the best in the state. Construction work on the road is lessened by the fact that it Is being run along the former bed of the railroad and much of the pre liminary work is already done. Grad es on the new road are reduced to practically nothing, due to the fact that it follows the line of the former railroad. .. “TOGO" MAKES BOW IN SUNSET MAGAZINE Wallace Irwin begins a new series of “Letters of a Japanese Schoolboy” in the December Sunset.
