Proposing to exploit American principles. American
ideals. American methods and to educate persons of alien
or native birth who do not unerstand the real foundation
on which this republic is constructed, an organization is
being formed by leading men of the nation. 'The organi
zation includes prominent men of every state and city
Nevada’s Governor. Reno’s Mayor, and others occupying
equallv prominent positions in public life, have been inter
ested in the movement locally. A meeting will be held in
the Chamber of Commerce rooms this afternoon at which
full discussion of the idea will be followed by some form
<il organization.
Americanism !- the prime necessity for membership in the
organization.. It is proposed to accept as associates in the
work, any man of affairs no matter what his walk of life
Men prominent in union afairs who are Americans at the
same time will be welcomed into fellowship.
The main purpose of the association is to combat radi
calism in every form- Decent government requires no ex
cuses for existence, all it needs is to be clearly explained
to the governed. Radicalism wins converts by soap-box
oratory; modern government can explain its purpose on the
same soapbox and win far more converts. The human
race perfers the right when the right is understood- ’The
exceptions to those who prefer to do right arc those who
must be restrained for the welfare of all -
Some organization that has for its purpose the upholding
of law as adopted by the nation, will result in benefit com
mensurate with the extent and determination of ilie order.
The American Legion now leads the anti-radical fight.
An organization of \mericans to support the legion would
serve to overawe any radical no matter how determined he
might he.

erful organizations are associated in urging prompt use of
