One of the most interesting of the manv remarkable statements vet made in connection with lanlac was given by Mrs. Marie J. Howard, who resides at 402 Westlake Ave.. North. Seattle, recentlv. Mrs.. Howard has been a res ident of Seattle for the past eighteen .... years, and before her marriage, was a I trained nurse and a graduate of Belle vue hospital. New York. When asked if she would be willing for her state ment to be published, she said. "Yes. indeed, and you may start it by saying I I believe Tanlac has saved my life. "I have suffered from stomach trouble I and disordered liver and kidneys fori five years and had gotten in such a I bad condition, that I honestly felt like I was going to die. Everything I would I eat fermented in my stomach and the gas tormea by it would cause my heart to palpitate so my breath would almost stop. There were intense pains all through my back about my liver and kidneys and I can't begin to tell how I did suffer. I had fearful headaches and was so nervous I hardly knew what sleep was. I was often down in bed for a week at a time, hardly able to raise my hand. Then I would manage to stay up for two or three days, but would have to give up and take to my bed again. I would often go for two or three days without eeating a mouthful of anything. I lost weight right along and am telling the positive truth when 1 say I was in such an awful condition that I thought 1 was going to die. "After reading and hearing so much about Tanlac I bought a bottle, think ing if it did others so much good, per haps it might help me too. Well, it as not onlv helped me, but 1 have ictuallv gained twentv-live pounds nice I began taking it and have never telt better in mv lite. Mv appetite is iood and mv stomach in such a splen- lid condition that I can hardlv .eat Hough and I don't suffer a particle af terwards. All my pain and misery is gone, my kidnys and liver are normal. I sleep everv night like a child, and lon't know what it is to have a head ache. Mv husband has also taken Tan lac with wonderful results. In fact, 1 think it has done him as much good as it has me, and we both consider it the finest medicine made." Tanlac is sold in Carson City by Charles L. Kitzmever. T" Most people are of the opinion that if the state is voted "dry" at the November election it means only the closing of the saWns and that they can take their little old jug to the grocery and have it filled at their pleasure. For the benefit of those who are laboring under this delusion their attention is called to section 7 of the initiative petition to be voted on, which reads as follows: Sec. 7. It shall be unlawful for any person to keep or have FOR PERSONAL USE of otherwise, or to use, or permit another to have, keep or use, intoxicating liquors at any restaurant, store, office build ing, club, place where soft drinks are sold (except a drug store may have and sell alcohol and wine as provided by sections four and twenty four), fruit stand, newsstand, room or place where bowling alleys, bil liard or pool tables are maintained, livery stables, public buildings, park, road, street or alley. It shall be unlawful for any person to give or furnish to another intoxicating liquors. Anyone violating this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not less than one hundred dollars, nor more than one thousand dollars, and be imprisoned in the county jail not less than two nor more than twelve mouths; provided that no common carrier, for hire, nor any other person, for hire or w ithout hire, shall bring or carry into this state, or carry from one place to another within the state, intoxicating liquors for another, even when intended for personal use; except a com mon carrier may, for hire, carry pure grain alcohol and wine, and such preparations as may be sold by druggists for the special purposes and in the manner as set forth in sections four and twenty-four; and provided further, however, that in case of search and seizure, the finding of any liquors shall be prima facia evidence that the same are being kept and stored for unlawful purposes. It will be seen that I now get i per cent less discount, paying my bills in ten days, than I formerly did by paying them in 30 days, and have to settle in 30 days or receive no more goods. Under these condi tions I am forced to change my terms which in future will be as follows: All bills must be paid by the 15th of the month following that which the bill is contracted. Customers not complying with the above will be required to pay cash. A. G. Meyers - 4
