GET 'EM QUICK
NEW-YORK, June 27. Great is
Fisher, of the battleship Alabama,
which is being overhauled tat the
Brooklyn navy yard. None in the
crew is now inclined to dispute his
fistic prowess. Fisher got a shore
leave with several comrades recently
and rushed up to the Bowery, finally
landing at Sharkey's lace, where he
partook of many liquid refreshments.
Finally Fisher started back to the
room where were a lot of women and
music. Sharkey said, "Here, you
Jackie, you can't go back there in
that uniform." "And whv not?" in
quired the A. B.. as he faced the ex
wonder. "Well, just because, since
you must know," said Sharkey.
At that instant Sharkey felt some
thing land on his jaw. It was the I
right fist of Fisher. Then a left swing j
came on the other side, then some
more rights and lefts handed in the
same zone. I
Sharkey went down in a heap, foul
ing the table. Fisher thereupon dis
creetly withdrew. "He's too easy," !
quoth Fisher as he passed out into
Fourteenth street.
