Chrisler of : Suisun, California, and has been con-! nected with the State Bank and Trust company for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Chrisler will leave i today for an extended trip through .southern California and upon their return will resume their residence m this city. The above from the News tells the entire story of the marriage and the Appeal can add nothing already said except to endorse the high esteem held in the city for both the contract ing parties. The Appeal is wishing them a long and happy wedded life voices the first prize for the boys. The judges sentiments of . the entire community, were Prof. Bray, Miss Jennie Weil i o-o and Rev. C. L. Mears. an orchestra of thirty musicians, a 0f j corp of twenty dancers, a staff of ten solo singers and, including himselt, a round half dozen of the most famous "End Men" in the world. From a scenic standpoint minstrelsy has never known anytiung to approacn the massive setting which surrounds : the efforts of Dockstader and his com-! pany. From the "Palace of Emeralds" which is the alluring prices of h.s "First Part" to the closing picture showing the moon-lit swamps of Louisiana every detail of the perform ance is carried in two of the largest baggage cars known to railroading. The enterprise displayed by Lew Dockstader in extending his tour to a thorough visit of the Pacific Coast ', merits a reception for him all along the line in keeping with the welcome he is always assured in Eastern cities. p-o The Scheme to Come Before - the r: Press Humorists at Los Angeles P'. -. , H in September On the -15 of September the Ameri can, Press, humorists will meet in Lo3 Angeles to hold their first annual con vntioB and arrange to raise the funcU to erect a 'monument to Bill Nye. . There are -; more than 100 of the American Press Humorists, connected with the leading newspepers and mag azines of the country, and their enter tainment at past conventions has in cluded high honors, such as a special train to Atlantic City as guests of the city of Baltimore; an official Ameri can Press Humorists' dav at the St. Louis exposition and a reception by John D. Rockfeller at his Forest Hill home. The convention last year was held in Philadelphia and Los Angeles was chosen as against four other cities which made bids for the fifth annual meeting. Will Be Notable Gathering. The Bill Nye monument project will j make the fifth annual convention more notable than any of the preced- ing gatherings. When the case. of Schmitz . was called in Judge Dunn's court this morning Heney Tor the state asked that the case be continued one day to enable him to meet the affidavits which the defense had prepared in asking for a change of venue. It is still believed that the mayor will plead giulty when the time comes and throw himself on the mercy of the court. It is claimed that he is now trying to make terms with the prosecution, but the attorneys for the state will neither confirm nor deny the state ment. The detectives are watching Schmitz all the while and there is no chance of escape. It is not believed that the states attorneys will give him a chance to compromise.
