terday, the principal cause for this
being that ex-President Roosevelt's
return proved such a tremendous af
fair that interest was detracted from
ail else, including business. There
was more or less scattered trading,
all through the day, however, and
prices as a whole strengthened slight
ly. The threatened investigation of
the U. 8. Steel corporation and its
subsidiary companies, coming imme

cleared of the administration railroad
controversy, had a bad efTect on the
already depressed situation and caus

as the week passed. The general im

of Mr. Roosevelt these troubles could

j the market yesterday may have been
a forerunner of an improved condi

The present state of affairs was not
brought about in a day, neither is it
liable to be eradicated within such a
short time. The continued rumors in
the east of threatening war between
large copper interests may yet prove
to have some foundation and if it
should take place the present low
prices of copper securities will be but
a marker to the levels they will reach
then. After bolding its own up un
til now, although it also was troubled
with lack of trading the Salt Lake
market broke badly the past week
and now prices of stocks listed there
are comparatively as low as are the
larger ones of the east. The Tintiofe

worst and prices of these stocks drop

WILL LIST ON
MASON VALLEY WILL BE PLACED
ON NEW YORK AND BOSTON
STOCK EXCHANGES WITHIN
SHORT TIME.
That the Mason Valley Mines com
pany stock will be listed on the New
York and Boston stock exchanges
Just as soon as the arrangements can
be perfected, is tne news brought
from the east by Fred Fllndt, says
the Salt Lake Tribune. This will be
good news indeed for the Mason Val
ley stockholders. When asked for
the significance of this procedure, Mr.
Flindt Haid on Wednesday:
“It will take from sixty to ninety
days to list the stork, for the com
pany must collect the required data,
new certificates must be prepared and
a new report made on the property,
so as to bring mine conditions as near
to date as posisble. Listing will be
of great benefit to the stock, as the
Boston and New York investor has
more ccn dence in a listed issue, and
rightfully so. When listed, also,,
stocks have a collateral value at the
banks which they do not have under
other conditions. During the past
month the Mason Valley stock has
been active in New York, and es
pecially in Boston, ana good orders
are coming in for this issus from
strong sources.’’

EAST ELY
is growing rapidly and has reached that
point where continued rapid growth is cer
tain. There is no longer room for question
as to its future as the prime and largely pop
ulated residence center of the district. That
is certain, a fact that adds much to the at
tractiveness of EAST ELY at the present
time as an opportunity for immediate invest
ment of valuable character in realty.
CNo locality in the state is favored with more ad
vantageous location for townsite purposes; no
city in the state possesses better school facilities, better
kept streets, better light and water facilities, better
sanitary conditions than does EAST ELY. All trains
operating in the district start and end their service at
EAST ELY; communication from this central part is
rapid and frequent by suburban train service to mines,
reduction works, Ely and all other points in the district.
Call upon us and let us interest you in a

that the investment is within your means
and that it is one that will profit you to
