The railroad company is install
ing the telegrnphone on the Salt
Lake division and when the work
is completed trainmen may talk
from Carlin to Sacramento, says
the 8pavks Forum. The telegraph
one is quite a recent innovation on
the local lines, but is proving
quite a success. By menus of it
a conductor of a stalled train can
run a pole up to a diepntching wire
and shout “Hello!” to any station
along the line. It is a great con-;
venience and will greatly facilitate!
train operating. The telegrnphone j
lias been in use on tiie Sacra
mento division for the past year
and has been a great aid to the
employee of the lino.
