Ad ordinance to regulate licenses in Carson City.
The Board of Trustees of Carson City do ordain:
Section 1. The persons, firms, associations, and corpor
ations. doing such branches of business, and carrying on
such trades and professions as hereinafter specified, shall
obtain from said city, and pay for the license hereinafter
specified
Section 2. All licenses shall be taken out quarterly, in
advance, unless otherwise directed herein, and must be paid
(or in gold coin when the amount paid exceeds five dollars.
All licenses taken out pursuant to the requir. ments of this
ordinance, shall be posted and kept , by the party or parties
taking the same, in a conspicuous place, in or about the
place of business of such license or licenses; and must be
shown to the o-t ccr whose tlnty it is to issue such license
during usual hours of business, on demand.
Section tl. Am jterson, linn, association, or corporation
whose duty it shall be, under the requirements of this or
dinance to take out a license, who shall fail so to
do at the time required, or within fifteen days
thereafter, shall pay, a-s a penalty for such delay, ten pvr
cent, additional to ti e original amount, and shall he liable
to a civil action for the recovery then of, with costs, and to
a criminal action wlu rem on c.u id ion. be, she or ihcy

Section 20. Every person, firm, or association engaged
in selling at auction anything, beside his own property, or
In loaning money or anv other thing of value, as a pawn
broker, in said citv, shall pay for and obtain a license so to
do, and shail pay therefor, if by the day, one dollar, if by
the quarter, twenty dollars.

Section 21. Everv person, whether principal or agent,
engaged in canvassing or soliciting subscriptions for the.
sale of books, maps, pictures or any similar matter, in sa.d

An Ordinance in rclati.m to the ott'ee of City Assessor
of Carson City, the duties and compensation of said
officer.
The Hoard of Trustees of Carson City d " ordain:
Sta-noN 1. The City Assessor of Carson City shall annu
ally assess all taxable property of the inhabitants of saitl
city, situate ami being in said city, for city taxation, at
the s imc time and in the siune manner he assesses saitl
proiertv for State and county taxation. lie sliall not
make a separate Assessment Roll of such assessment, but
shall place anil extend the same umn the Assessment Roll
made for State and county taxation by him.
Suction 2. The City Assessor of saitl City shall receive
an annual salary of one hundred dollars, in I'nited States
gold e .in, which shall he in full for all services rendered
by him to said city as such otlicer.
Skctio 3. All Ordinances heretofore adopted, so far
only as they conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance,
