Chas. T. Vincent's latest farcical co(itedy success, which the e.(centrie h,.LodiarI Mr. Robetolt Dalton will present at thei .lJfiersoin Theater on Tuesday, Oct. 26, hinges around i ul gnstus Twitters, who has a t:aste for e(citenhtit and female so ciety. The complications begin when Dick Sterling, a rising young lawyer, in love with Emily, Augustus' daugh ter, finds out that his prospective father-in-law has given a ring to Mille. Julie, a dancer. As Dick is forbidden the house because of August us' aver sion to lawyers, he concocts a scheme whereby he can show up the old man and get his consent to a marrige with Emily. Dick gets an introduction to Mile. Julie and induces her to assist him in his little scheme. Dick presses his uncle Robert into service as a pseudo detective and between the three they trap Augustus. Further complications arise when a beauty doctor, Mlle. Julie's father, makes his appearance, at the intervention of Mrs. Twitters, to remove a blemish from her neck. Emily mistakes him for Dick's uncle, which furnishes op portunity for another tangle. The beauty doctor brings his daughter with him on his professional calls and as Mrs. Twitters does not want her husband to know of his presence in duces him to hide in her room and his daughter in a closet at Augustus' unexpected return. This situation furnishes one of the fun iniest scenes in the play, and the fun is fast and furious intil the dancer Stinal!y escapes. Finally Dick's uncle :apears on the scene, introduces him self as Inspector Peck and tells Au t gustus that he is working up the ring affair in the interest of a lawyer friend. The friend is Dick. who at the cpportune monment assures Twitters that he can and will save him if he will give his consent to his marriage with Emily. Augustus is furious, but seeing he is trapped consents, and the complications fade away in the hap piness of the two young people and the promise of Augustus to behave himself in the future when his wife's away. Mr. Dalton appears as Augustus Twitters, a character that fits him like the proverbial glove, while the rest of the company is excellent. The Advertiser Is well equipped to print wedding invitations.
