Notice. is hereby given that sealed
bids wids will be received by the Po
lie. Jury of the Parish of St. John the
Baptist for the purchase of Thirty
One Thousand ($31,000.00) Dollars
public improvement road bonds to be
dated October 1st. 1922, bearing in
terest at the rate of Six (6) pet cent
per annum, payable semi-annually.
Said bids will be received in open sea
sion at 12:00 o'clock M. on Thursday,
September 7th. 1922, at the Edgard
Court House, Edgard, La. All bid
ders will be required in connection
with their bids to deposit a certified
cheek to te. amount of Two and one
(2%) per cent of the amount of
the bends to guarantee the faithfbl
perfoimance of their bids.

will meet on the 28th. day of
October 1922 for the purpose
of receiving protests and
hearing complaints on valua
tion of property for assess
ment purposes in this Parish
fixed by the Louisiano Tax
Commission. All taxpayers
desiring to protest valua
tions fixed by the Louisiana
Tax Commission must file
their protest with the Secre
tary of the Police Jury on or
before the date of said meet
