Justice Fisher's court room was crowc ed this morning wh -n the case of Dr. 8. Clay Todd, who was pued for damages by Mrs. Francis Fade, came up for trial. Attorney W. J. McDonald appeared for the plaintiff and Attorney O. .1. Larson was for the defendant. It took from 10 o'clock this morning until 2 this after noon to settle the case. There was a good deal of trouble in securing a jury Agreeable to both sides, but the following gentlemen were finally secured; J. H, Joslin, Joseph Wilmers, J. II. Johnson, Joseph Murphy, James Lang and James flocking. Only two witnesses were examined, the idaintiff and defendant, in the case. The testimony long drawn out and most of the time was spent by the attorneys in arguing points of law in regard to the case. Mrs. Fade claimed that the doctc r agreed to cure her In a month, that she was not any better at the end of the time than when she began the treatment and wanted damages to the amount of $100 for her trouble, etc. The jury was not It d Jacket, April 22. 1897.
