In dustrial companies, banks and trust companies, Avhose advice Is t?iven weighty consideration at director' meetings and who keeps In detailed tonrh with nil economic phases of our country's industrial life, believes that events are shaping themselves for another halt 1n the Industrial pro gram. He does not ihy any means fnr Keo another. panh (but 'believes that an M'onomle re-adjustment Is pending In which the current high prices for com modities mnd high scale of wages will come down materially, this re-adjustment ibeing the Inevitable result of a eloxlng down of business which present conditions, he thinks, will force upon the country before long. Ills argument Is that the last ten years or more this country has seen wonderful Industrial development, Induced by the prosperity and extravagance of our people. To meet the Increasing demand for pro duct. Industrial corporations have spent millions to enlarge the capacity "f their plants, which have now rench '1 a maximum production develop ment. This condition would simply mean nn equal exchange of labor for commodities on a higher pfale than (beforo If our trade were confined to our markets alone but Ktiropo l, our competitor. Wages thi'i-e ore lower than ours and com modities cheaper. So long as prices continue high In this country we shall Continue to export gold. In time this drain on our resources with the continued decline In foreign demand for our goods will naturally teck business, tighten money and force ecomomy. ed not to open tho Rxehange on Prl day May 20 until 12 o'clock noon in honor of King Kdward's memory. .The Anaconda's Nevcrsweat mine which was out of commission for a few days, resumed yesterday.
