To be swindled out of your goods by customers whom you consider trust worthy, is bad, but all who sell on credit must expect to suffer suoh losses To be robbed by burglars or highwaymen is worse: still you have a right and a ohanoe to defend your-1 self, and it you succeed to send a bullet through a robber'B brains, you have rendered a valuable seivice to society. Worst of all is to bo robbed by a trusted employee, a confidential clerk, in whom you placo too mujh confidence. It is impossible to carry on any business without trusting in the honor of employees, and exposing yourself to robbery. I have been robbed in this wy by my former book-keeper, Charles Werner. Any information disclosing his preseot location, will be properly rewarded, as I shall spare no pains nor expense to mako him faco a Waco jury. Since New Year, trade with mo has been very brisk. My men have worked their fullest capaci ty. I have come to the conclusion that the people appreciate tbo fact of having in their midst one of tho lar gest, best equipped and best managed hardware stores in tho stato, where they always can find what they want, and secure the lowost prices, cither in small, or wholesale lots. Yours for hardware, E. Strauss. Notice. A gentle mare, good for saddle, single or double harness, can bo had for her feed, or can be bought ohoap. A child oan manage her. John N.
