Mr. George Poleter, a well known
and highly resptctrd citizen of this
city, died yesterday niternoon of a
recent attack of paralysis The do
ceased was 53 years of age, a native
German, who cast his lot among us
when but a boy and soon became
thoioughly identified with the interests
of the land of his adoption and will
ingly shared her misfortunes. He
joined the Confederate army, under
bihley, at the breakout of the late war
and made a gallant soldier. He leaves
a devoted wife, five children and a large
circle of friends to mourn his death.
The funeral will take place from the
family residence, 505 North Ninth
street, this afternoon at 4:30. Inter
ment at Oakwood cemetery,
